    • 24' Thibaut Courtois in the Atletico goal tidies up nicely from a Granada corner. It was a weak delivery.
    • 23' Godin does well to rob Yacine Brahimi of the ball as the Frenchman makes a twisting run into the box.
    • 22' Juanfran up the Atletico right has the Granada defence pinned back again. Can the Spaniard create an opening soon?

    • 20' We're back underway and the home side relieve the pressure by pushing forwards.
    • 19' In fact Toño stayed down there after getting a knock from his old friend Falcao and requires some treatment.
    • 17' Three corners in a row for Atletico and Toño eventually gets some help from the referee who sees an infringement.
    • 15' From that corner Toño concedes another, tipping Diego Godin's header over the bar. That was on target.
    • 14' Raul Garcia tests Granada goalkeeper Toño from way out on his left foot. Corner for the visitors.
    • 13' Granada have several players on loan from Udinese including Allan Nyom, Dani Benítez and Gabriel Torje who are all in the starting line-up tonight.
    • 12' Falcao this time has a goalscoring chance, it looked like he thought he was offside, but the Colombian was free in the box and over hit a pass instead of turning and shooting.
    • 10' Referee Gonzalez Gonzalez - yes that's really his name - is letting the game flow nicely, despite a pretty physical approach from both teams.
    • 9' Atletico may be one of the biggest sides in Spain but they're living dangerously here at Granada.
    • 8' Granada should be 1-0 up after Youssef El Arabi gets free in the box from a set piece and heads wide. That was a great chance.
    • 7' An uncharacteristic error from Juanfran lets Siqueira in and he blasts over the Atletico bar.
    • 5' Toño, wearing all pink tonight, had a great game against Falcao playing for Racing Santander last season and is described by the striker as his toughest opponent in the league.
    • 4' A couple of early touches for Granada 'keeper Toño, who beats Falcao to a long through ball.
    • 3' Fairly even in the early exchanges with Filipe Luis looking to make inroads down the Atletico left, but nothing doing yet.
    • 2' The tight compact Los Cármenes stadium looks packed full and there is a great atmosphere at this Andalusian venue tonight.
    • 1' The game gets underway with Granada in their usual red and white hoops and Atletico in a change strip of all black. There was a minute's reflection before the game due to the death this week of Granada coach Juan Antonio Anquela's mother.
    • 18.40 Relative newcomers to La Liga, Granada were promoted to the top flight in 2011 after a 35 year absence. They are an attractive side to watch but they currently sit 17th, just one point above the relegation zone, having lost four of their last five games. Atletico Madrid are second in the league having lost just once this season and they can close to within three points of top men Barça if they win this evening.
    • 18.35 Meanwhile, Atletico’s Spanish international full-back Juanfran is wary of the threat Granada pose. "If we win it will seem like just another game and Granada are regarded by some as an easy team to face," he comments. "But we can’t underestimate them as they have a good team, good ball playing midfielders, good wingers, good full-backs. We’ll need to be at our best to win there."
    • 18.30 Granada full back Guillerme Siqueira believes his teams opponents today are not title contenders despite the brilliant form they have shown in 2012. Siqueira states, "In Spain there are no other teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona. But if you take those two away Atletico are the team performing best in the country and are the toughest opponents out there. They’re on a good run and they are fighting for important positions, but we’re the home side so we’ll go out at 100% and fight for the win."
    • 18.20 Teams: GRANADA: Toño, Nyom, Diakhaté, Borja Gómez, Siqueira, Mikel Rico, Iriney, Torje, Brahimi, Benítez, El Arabi… subs: Roberto, Angulo, Ortiz, Lopez, Moises, Ighalo, Orellana. /// ATLETICO MADRID: Courtois, Juanfran, Godín, Miranda, Filipe, Mario, Gabi, Arda, Raúl García, Adrián, Falcao… subs: Asenjo, Diaz, Rodriguez, Koke, Emre, Tiago, D.
