    • 90+5' FULL TIME. Sevilla triumph 1-0 thanks to that early goal from Trochowski! Madrid in all kinds of trouble as they sit eight points behind Barcelona.
    • 90+4' Ronaldo takes it and thumps the set-piece high over the bar! That must be that...
    • 90+4' A late, late free kick for Madrid...
    • 90+2' The seconds are ticking away for Madrid now. It looks as though they will have eight points to make up on Barcelona - a huge gap in this division.
    • 90' We will have four minutes of added time.
    • 88' Luna brings Pepe to ground to earn a yellow card for Seville.
    • 86' Now Callejon reacts petulantly as a decision goes against him. Madrid are not going down with honour here.
    • 83' Ronaldo takes aim from 25 yards but his effort is watched all the way by Palop. Madrid now staring into the face of a very damaging defeat.
    • 82' Trochowski is replaced by Geoffrey Kondogbia.
    • 81' Ronaldo is almost in tears after being denied by a superb challenge from Navarro just when it looked as though he was through on goal to meet a wonderful pass from Higuain.
    • 80' Benzema cuts back onto his right boot on the left and floats in a cross that is easy for Palop to pluck out of the air.
    • 79' Pepe is furious after being penalised for a foul that wasn't. He is an angry man, and you absolutely don't want to make Pepe angry.
    • 77' Ronaldo - who was obviously going to be the focus of attention after those comments about his "sadness" has had little real impact on the match. Another reason for concern.
    • 75' Worryingly for Madrid they appear to have gone off the boil a bit here. A reminder: they started the game eight points behind Barcelona.
    • 73' Brilliant. Cicinho pulls out the tricks and draws Ronaldo into a foul. He milks it for all it is worth with a succession of rolls and Ronaldo tries to tell the ref he has dived.
    • 71' Sevilla replace Negredo, who has sustained a knock, with defender Antonio Luna. Sevilla withdrawing into their shell.
    • 69' Navas sears down the right before pinging in a cross but Pepe clears. Madrid have looked vulnerable at the back all night.
    • 68' Madrid could well leave themselves open on the counter-attack with Callejon on the pitch. Sevilla re very potent in that regard, so it is a risky move.
    • 66' An attacking change for Madrid as full back Arbeloa is replaced by midfielder Jose Maria Callejon. Mourinho is going for broke now.
    • 65' Navas, who has been very bright tonight, gets a shot wrong as he thunders a shot wide of the upright for Sevilla.
    • 63' Another chance for Madrid as Higuain pulls the ball down at the far post and sees his shot deflected wide by Navarro. Corner to Madrid but they can't make anything of it.
    • 61' The change comes as Rakitic is replaced by Manu.
    • 60' What a miss! Ramos against his former side! Palop flaps at a free kick from Alonso and when Benzema pokes the ball back across goal, Ramos heads against the bar from one yard out!
    • 59' More pressure from Sevilla in what is becoming an absorbing contest. However, Casillas ultimately claims the ball in the air to allow Madrid to relax.
    • 57' More pressure from Sevilla in what is becoming an absorbing contest. However, Casillas ultimately claims the ball in the air to allow Madrid to relax.
    • 55' Modric slips in Higuain and the striker appears to be awaiting contact from Palop that never comes. He is forced to take a touch and shoot from a tight angle but the keeper saves.
    • 54' A huge chance for Sevilla! Negredo is free in acres of space when getting a pass from Navas and has so much time to line up a shot from just outside the box. Casillas braces himself but the shot is woeful as Negredo drags it wide.
    • 52' What a hit from Modric! From 25 yards his stunning effort flies towards goal but Palop pulls off a tremendous save to tip the ball onto the post. Higuain follows up but thumps his shot well wide.
    • 50' It has been a pretty low-key start to the second half from Madrid.
    • 49' Modric should give Madrid more control in the centre of midfield while Benzema supplies firepower in attack. Madrid should be more dangerous after making those two changes.
    • 47' Madrid have made two changes at the break with Luka Modric and Karim Benzema coming on for Di Maria and Ozil.
    • 46' KICK OFF!
    • - Should Madrid take off Di Maria before he gets himself sent off? What's up with Ronaldo? Let me know on Twitter. Follow Tom Adams on Twitter!
    • 45+1' HALF TIME. Real Madrid have plenty to do with Sevilla leading 1-0 thanks to a goal from Trochowski.
    • 45' We will have one added minute in Seville.
    • 44' Another flare-up as Di Maria and Rakitic come together. The Croatian is booked for the initial foul on Di Maria but the Madrid winger gets away with a blatant kick out. That had to be a second booking.
    • 42' Not long left now for Madrid to get on level terms before the break, but at the moment it is Sevilla who look more likely, especially down the right wing.
    • 40' Pepe -surprise, surprise - goes into the referee's book. He is penalised for throwing out an arm to push Negredo to ground.
    • 39' On the break, Navas takes on three Madrid players and opts for the early shot. However, his effort floats into the arms of a grateful Casillas.
    • 38' Ronaldo takes on Botia and from a tight angle calls Palop into action with a stinging drive.
    • 37' More unconvincing defending from Madrid but Casillas is comfortable enough when plucking the ball out of the air. This has been a strange performance from the defending champions.
    • 35' Madrid charge up the other end and Navarro decides to head a cross back to his own keeper. He almost misjudges it and nearly heads the ball right over Palop and into the net though.
    • 34' Casillas flaps at the following corner and the ball pops out to Trochowski, who thunders his shot into the ground and sees it bounce up into the arms of the Madrid keeper.
    • 33' Navas finds space again on the right and tries to pick out Negredo with a cross. However, that man Pepe is on hand again to intervene and head clear. Jose Mourinho looks rather unimpressed on the sideline.
    • 31' Rakitic has a great chance to play in Negredo but Pepe does superbly well to extend a leg and prevent the through-ball from reaching the Spain striker. Madrid were stretched again though.
    • 30' Navarro throws himself in the way of Ronaldo and the ball and then throws himself to ground when feeling contact on the back of the head. He has been practicing the dark arts today.
    • 29' Rakitic takes the free kick and spots Trochowski who is free again as he runs in at the back post. However, the ball has just too much on it and runs out for a goal kick.
    • 28' Di Maria is booked for a messy challenge on Trochowski from behind. He is not having a good game.
    • 25' Ronaldo takes aim with a free kick but it deflects off the wall. He wants a corner but doesn't get one.
    • 23' Navas now drives into the box from his position wide on the right and instead of playing in Ivan Rakitic the winger goes for goal, his low effort forcing Casillas into a save at his near post.
    • 21' What a turn from Higuain. He gets away from Emir Spahic but the defender recovers and just does enough to disrupt the striker as he fires a shot over the bar.
    • 20' Cicinho - not the former Madrid one - stings the palms of Casillas with a thumping drive from a tight angle. The Madrid keeper spills it as his uncharacteristically nervy night continues.
    • 18' Marcelo picks out Higuain with a fine cross from the left and though the striker is in plenty of space, his aim is poor as he directs his header back across goal and wide of the post.
    • 16' Ronaldo flashes another shot wide on the volley. That was never threatening Palop.
    • 14' Xabi Alonso displays excellent close control to find space in the centre of the park but when Mesut Ozil lays the ball off first time he fails to find a team-mate.
    • 12' Alberto Botia barges into the back of Higuain and the striker elbows the floor in frustration after being brought to ground. He is getting a bit tetchy.
    • 11' Ronaldo is in the hunt again and this time a long-range effort that dips nastily is turned rounf the post by Palop. However, the corner comes to nothing.
    • 10' Madrid win a free kick 25 yards from goal and Ronaldo gets it up and over the wall, only for Andres Palop to produce a diving save to palm the ball away.
    • 8' Now a cross from the right from Jesus Navas causes Madrid problems as Ramos gets a touch and Casillas, fearing a possible back pass, has to boot the ball clear under pressure.
    • 7' Madrid look very nervy at the back. Sergio Ramos expects Casillas to come for a through ball and when he doesn't the defender has to clear himself.
    • 5' Confirmation that Higuain and Navarro were booked for going head-to-head in that brief melee.
    • 4' More chaos! Gonzalo Higuain gets himself in trouble after protesting about a challenge from Fernando Navarro on Alvaro Arbeloa. Arbeloa had a little kick out before going down in pain. Higuain kicked off but the referee calms things down with the assistance of Casillas.
    • 3' Now that is something for Ronaldo to be sad about. A stunning start from Sevilla.
    • 2' GOAL! Sevilla 1-0 Real Madrid! Incredible! Sevilla open Madrid up from a corner as Piotr Trochowski loses Angel Di Maria with a run into the box and is allowed to meet the set-piece with a first-time finish as he sweeps the ball into the roof of the net!
    • 1' A frantic start in Seville! Iker Casillas spills a shot but then redeems himself with a save to deny Alvaro Negredo from close range!
    • 1' KICK OFF!
    • 21:54 'Mou', as he is known in Spain, has sought to play down Ronaldo's revelation two weeks ago that he was feeling "sad" at the club. Mourinho happy with 'sad' Ronaldo
    • 21:52 Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain in the starting XI then rather than France's Karim Benzema. Kaka, Luka Modric and Michael Essien are also left on the bench by Jose Mourinho, with Mesut Ozil in the playmaking role and Cristiano Ronaldo and Angel Di Maria attacking from wide positions.
    • 21:48 Barca have just completed a 4-1 victory at Getafe to go top of the table. Madrid stand 10th with a game in hand and will be five points behind Tito Vilanova's side should they win this difficult match. Table
    • 21:45 Madrid have won one, drawn one and lost one in La Liga but won the Spanish Super Cup on away goals against hated rivals Barca. Results and fixtures
    • 21:43 TEAMS: Sevilla: Palop; Cicinho, Spahic, Botía, Fernando Navarro; Medel, Maduro; Navas, Rakitic, Trochowski; Negredo. Subs: Diego López; Cala, Campaña, Manu del Moral, Babá, Luna, Kondogbia. /// Real Madrid: Casillas, Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Xabi Alonso, Khedira, Di Maria, Ozil, Cristiano, Higuain. Subs: Adán; Albiol, Kaká, Modric, Essien, Callejón, Benzema.
    • 21:40 Real Madrid seek to close the deficit to Barcelona as they travel to Sevilla's Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
  • Summary

    • 81' Ronaldo is almost in tears after being denied by a superb challenge from Navarro just when it looked as though he was through on goal to meet a wonderful pass from Higuain.
