    • 90+2' There goes the whistle for full-time after Thomis had raced into the England area. Brilliant run, but no finish. A 3-0 win for France. England go out of the tournament on one point.
    • 89' We are into two minutes of time added on.
    • 88' White thumps the shot at Deville. Plenty of power from the Williams pass. But never had the direction to beat the France goalkeeper.
    • 87' Some inventive play by White breaking into the French box. Deville mistimes coming for the cross, but no harm done as the ball spins up before France clear.
    • 85' Renard has looked a class act all night long in cutting out these sporadic England attacks.
    • 83' Never going to be enough to trouble a side as talented as France, who are looking good to win this tournament.
    • 82' Houghton looking for Clark, but Franco is there. England lacking the quality all night long.
    • 81' England then look to break as Clarke bounds down a flank, but fine recovery work by Franco to make the challenge.
    • 79' Alex Scott wallops a shot over the bar. Never troubling Deville, who has had little to do in the France goal.
    • 78' Thomis lifts the cross just too high for Le Sommer. Wave after wave of France attacks here.
    • 77' Le Sommer pulls her shot wide from distance. Never on target. France continue to hold this 3-0 lead.
    • 76' Renard collides with Bardsley after Necib had thrown over the corner. More brilliant stuff from France on the attack. Free-kick to England.
    • 75' Necib with the free-kick. Plenty of cut and spin on the ball, but Bardsley comes off her line to make the punch. Solid goalkeeping.
    • 74' A booking for Williams after she pulled back Thomis on her latest run up the park.
    • 73' Renard pushes the ball away after Deville failed to collect the Clarke cross. Renard again tidies up just in time.
    • 72' White throws over a cross on the run, but Deville quickly off her line to grab the ball.
    • 71' Change for England as Clarke arrives to take over from Carney.
    • 70' France playing this more like a practice game. Duggan unloads a shot from distance, but always travelling wide.
    • 69' An offside flag goes up against Jill Scott after she bounded forward too early.
    • 68' Necib slides the ball into the path of Thomis, who sees a shot slide inches wide. So unfortunate for France after another lovely move.
    • 67' Bardsley punching clear from under her bar after Necib had thrown over another delightful corner.
    • 66' Catala trying to join the party for France, and she earns her country a corner.
    • 65' Abily nods inches wide with Bardsley off her line. Awful goalkeeping. France should lead 3-0.
    • 64' All going wrong for England, who are being given a serious beating here.
    • 63' GOAL! Necib cross for Renard and header hits the back of the net. France lead 3-0.
    • 62' GOAL! Necib nets for France from the edge of the box. Brilliant touch and finish. A 2-0 lead for France.
    • 61' On comes Smith and off goes Aluko. England have 30 minutes left to rescue their situation.
    • 60' Duggan unloads the shot from 25 yards out. Ball a couple of yards over the bar.
    • 59' Deville off her line to clasp the cross from Scott. Much brighter passing play by England out there.
    • 58' White looking for Duggan, but Renard with the interception. Bardsley off her line with Thomis again looking to break forward.
    • 57' Houghton far from happy she never received that pass in time. England making more of a fight of it.
    • 56' Necib closing down space. Aluko then looks to break. Houghton in support, but doesn't receive the pass.
    • 55' Necib slides the ball into the path of Thomis. Glorious chance to kill matters, but she knocks the shot high and wide of the target.
    • 54' England slowly and surely looking better here. Pressing higher up the pitch which seems to be paying off.
    • 53' Scott picks out White on the run. Decent turn and shot, but blocked by Renard.
    • 52' Necib looking for Le Sommer, but she just fails to connect with the volley. England living on the edge here it must be said.
    • 51' Houghton with a decent cross into the heart of the French box, but Deville is well positioned to grab the ball.
    • 50' Bardsley doing well to clutch the high ball into the area with Le Sommer lurking under it.
    • 49' Also a change for England with Asante departing to be replaced by Scott.
    • 48' Great block by Stoney after Le Sommer had walloped a shot at goal from the edge of the England area.
    • 47' Changes for the French side with Abily replacing Thiney and Bussaglia taking over from Soubeyrand.
    • 46' France get the second half off and running. Work to be done by England here.
    • 45' There goes the whistle for the break. France somehow only lead 1-0 which is a minor miracle when you think how much of the play they have enjoyed.
    • 44' Not going to be much if any time added to this first period here.
    • 43' Russia 1-1 with Spain in the other match this evening in the group.
    • 41' France breaking up play at the halfway line. Thiney then wallops a volley over the bar from distance. Poor by French standards.
    • 40' Thomis with another run, but just fails to pick out Le Sommer. Scott forced to make the interception that time.
    • 38' England toiling to cut through this French side as Deville thumps the ball forward from deep.
    • 36' Necib delivers the corner, but Bardsley off his line to grasp the loose ball.
    • 35' Houghton wins the ball from Thomis after the French player dashed down a flank.
    • 34' Necib continues to ooze class in the middle of the park. So much technique and flair about this French side.
    • 33' Stoney with a long ball from the back. Renard is on hand to make the interception.
    • 32' Renard wins the ball from Carney with a strong shot before Le Sommer's effort from distance winds up in the arms of Bardsley.
    • 31' Deville knocks the goalkick down the park as France try to go again looking for a second goal.
    • 30' The French team in so much control of this game. They look stronger and sharper. Another French goal would surely bury this match.
    • 29' England yet to muster a shot at the French goal. Which probably says it all about the goings on so far this evening.
    • 28' Stoney with a decent challenge on Thomis. Deemed to be late, but better aggression from the English women.
    • 27' Thomis thumps a shot a couple of yards wide from the edge of the area. Decent hit, but ball never on target.
    • 26' Deville collects a high ball from Franco. Appeals for a passback, but that would have been very harsh. Nothing doing.
    • 25' Necib takes the corner, but decent play by Aluko to help out her defence in clearing the danger. England all defensive.
    • 24' Le Sommer narrowly offside. Far too much space between the two England central defenders whenever France attack.
    • 23' Can see why the French are so impressive in possession. So much time and space. England seem to lack confidence.
    • 22' Le Sommer dinks the cross over the bar from the Thomis pass. Another superb run by Le Sommer. England being given a real chasing here.
    • 21' England all over the place as Bardsley does just enough to touch Necib's effort over the bar from distance. She is an outstanding player for France so far.
    • 20' Thomis almost in on goal, but Bradley back to make a fine tackle just in time.
    • 19' England can't seem to get any time or space on the ball. Which is a problem generally in football. Not just at this level.
    • 18' Another fine run and shot by Thomis, but Bardsley reads the movement well to make the stop at her near post.
    • 17' Soubeyrand smashes a shot a couple of yards over the bar. Decent hit, but not on target. England fortunate to survive.
    • 16' England's passing just not at the races this evening. No such trouble for France, who look a class act every time they come forward.
    • 15' Renard picks up the loose ball. Bardsley then off her line quickly to collect ahead of Thomis.
    • 14' The crowd enjoying the work ethic of this French side. Henry penalised for a late foul on Aluko.
    • 13' France drop deep to snuff out all the space. Bradley then launches the long ball straight into the arms of Deville.
    • 12' France working so, so hard. And this French side are looking highly slick out there.
    • 11' France topping the section as we stand this evening on nine points. England going home on one point unless they find a goal.
    • 10' Lovely play by Thomis to set up Le Sommer for that goal. England with it all to do.
    • 9' GOAL! Le Sommer turns in the box to slam the shot low and hard into the net. France lead 1-0. Disaster for England.
    • 8' Le Sommer caught offside. She is already showing her class out there. Some superb movement.
    • 7' Horton scrambles the ball clear after Le Sommer sees a shot come back off a post with Bardsley beaten. Lovely pass from Necib to Le Sommer.
    • 6' Deville hammers a long ball down the park. Carney and Aluko swapping wings at the moment to bolster England's options.
    • 5' Bardsley off her line quickly to collect the cross from Soubeyrand before Renard nods well wide from a corner. France moving forwards.
    • 4' Thomis is penalised for a late foul on Houghton out wide. Bit of respite for England.
    • 3' England earn a corner here that is going to be swept in by Carney. White can't get on the end of it and Franco tries to clear for France.
    • 2' Aluko looking to bound forward before Stoney picks up at the back for England, who are keeping the ball well so far.
    • 1' We are off and running then in this one. England kick off the action.
    • 19:25 We will be keeping you up to date with the goings on in the other Group C match this evening between Spain and Russia. But of course, England have it all in their own hands with a win from this one. Teams out on the pitch in Linkoping.
    • 19:20 France defender Wendie Renard: "Even though we are top, we should take England seriously. They lost the first game and drew the second so they'll want some kind of revenge against us. They'll do everything to win, but we want to finish well."
    • 19:15 England coach Hope Powell: "In the last couple of years, we've done really well. We stamped our mark on women's football globally, if you include the Olympics in that, and all the games before we haven't lost. It's just unfortunate you come to a major tournament and the expectation sometimes is you should be there or thereabouts at the end. But it is a tough tournament and we have not performed. We just have to hope it clicks."
    • 19:10 England will be through with a win this evening, but finish second only if they and Russia prevail, and only if the latter fail to do enough to match England's goal difference or goals scored. A draw would only be enough to get them into the third-placed drawing of lots.
    • 19:05 Teams: France (4-2-3-1): Celine Deville; Corine Franco, Sabrina Delannoy, Wendie Renard, Jessica Houara; Amandine Henry, Sandrine Soubeyrand; Elodie Thomis, Gaetane Thiney, Louisa Necib; Eugenie Le Sommer////England (4-4-2): Karen Bardsley; Alex Scott, Sophie Bradley, Casey Stoney, Steph Houghton; Karen Carney, Fara Williams, Anita Asante, Eni Aluko; Toni Duggan, Ellen White
    • 19:00 Good evening and welcome to LIVE coverage of England v France from Arena Linköping in Sweden. England could go through with a draw this evening in the Group C meeting, but would prefer to get the job done with a win. Russia and Spain kick off at the same time as this match.

  1. Lucky man, French girls are the most unfaithfull girls in Europe and in the worl, don't praise them so high. I really prefer an English girl off the field and I wouldn't marry a French woman. English girls have much more conversation and you don't have to chat them up to adress them. French girls treat English females of drunkard sluts, which is undeserved to me: my opinion is that they're just less hypocritical than French girls and take more responsibility for what they do.

  9. You English people are really angry at your team. Well, one can understand it. Your four back players are so .... well ... sh...ty. You can't hope do anything in whatever tournament with that four back players. One of the rare times I see England not looking like itself, for the back side I mean. No even the middle and forward side. Only your goalkeeper looked like she meant winning. If your FA doesn't do anything to improve youngsters training, you're bound to stay at that level for ever, what I shouldn't mind. But I somehow prefer a strong English side that a Spain extracting itself from nowhere (which makes me suspect many things), because you never know where that'll stop. How on Earth could you get beaten by them? That really means you were not at the level required. I wouldn't put that on Hope Powell's back, but on your FA that should, once again, get some training to these girl who seem a bit too unfit, too heavy to compete with the other teams.

  11. as long as the FA still think England can compete as a top teams whether male or female we will stayed bogged down in this fantasy . Reality is we stink on all fronts due to the existing coaching system which discourages flair and inovation. We should be looking for those with a games brain as well as football talent. I have watched both gender national teams and they can neither trap or pass the ball without giving it away regularly . Their running off the ball is none existant and even if they do go on run into space by the time they are spotted by the ball carrier its to late , as he still looking at his feet wonder what to do next .
