    Silver wear for the Gunners??

I'm a big fan of Arsenal (The Gunners) in South Africa. I am really frustrated of my team, they haven't won anything since they last won the FA cup, while the likes of Patrick Vieira, Robert Pires and Reyes was still in the club, and really enjoyed their game then, still now they play beautiful football but they lack consistency, and they are not aggressive enough. Mr Werger has done an incredible job with the young team, but we need experienced players as well to guide the likes of Fabregas and others in building a Championship material squad. I hope next season will be able to stage in atleast three cup finals and maybe go home with 2 cups including the Champions league, so our scout must do their job properly and buy quality not quantity to bring the glory days back at Emirates.

    • I think it is most likely that Arsenal will again take fourth place, but they could finish anywhere between 2nd and 6th this season.

Tottenham could pip them one place and another team like either West Ham or Newcastle could also pip them, but if Wenger gets his "young guns" firing on all cylinders, they could even manage second place.

I don't think anybody can take the titel away from Man U.

    • Patrick Vieira is the best defensive midfielder in the history of world. This is Irhad from Bosnia, and Im a big fan of Patrick Vieira. He is amazing, powerful, has a great abilities, full of stamina and extremely strong.....he is a machine which cannot be destroyed

    • people like you annoy me, its not about going out and spending loads of cash its about piecing a squad together it takes time players need time to adapt unbeatable season we bought one player the squad was together for 3 or 4 years if this squad gets it right we could have a better team than we did then .

      • easy mate calm it down - the man has a point. You're a solid Wengarist which is fine - I'm a sympathiser of his idea of building a team like Arsene is however you can't build a team without some experience present. Of course we have Gilberto and Henry, but they need more than that. I think signing one or two more senior, top quality players will help the youngsters learn, perhaps even a bit more quickly. RVP had Bergkamp to learn from last year - now there is not one in that highly experienced role. I'm not talking about throwing money at a team chelsea or Man Utd style (or though to be fair, for the prices they pay, utd seem to get decidedly average players - Carrick and Hargreaves (17m, bargin for Bayern) don't you think?)
This team has great potential and I too believe they could be fantastic in times to come but time is rolling on, this is now 2 years with nothing to show for the team's efforts - stuff needs to start moving forward next season as they admit they're finally settled in the new environment of the emirates. These gooner kids like to talk to the media about their potential but it is soon becoming the time where they should do all their talking on the pitch

    • i feel the same way, but we need an out and out striker. its all so nice playing the freestyle preety football but what we really need is someone whocan get the ball and shoot it towards the goal. sounds simple but we dont do that as a team, as it seems our players are happy to have a kick about outside and insde the box but no one wants to shoot incase what?? they get shouted at who nose for what reason.
rumours of e'to and other strikers being rumoured to come to us we need a goal scorer who can score, not a huge piece of meat thats called the beast (baptista) who cant see the target let alone hit it. get rid of that bulk back to real madrid.

      • I feel you, but I got a question to ask, If they bring Eto' to the team, do you think they will be able to form a perfect or deadly partneship with the King "Henry" up front? Adebayor is doing great he's just not a regular scorer, we need a person who can score goals week-in week-out. I know Eto' is capable but with King Henry it won't work.

      • Big Arsenal fan from Kenya. It pains me how things have gone for us.We sure could use some long range shots and also the coaching staff needs to get their act together.Decisive subs are late coming in,you dont see the gaffer at the touchline talking to the boys while the game progresses he just sits straightening his hair(see Benitez,Ancelloti always giving instruction to the team from the touchline) ,the scourge thats setpieces has never been worked on.We need at least four mature signings on each department to inject the young guns with experience and professionalism. The beast should be off he only rants and raves and on being given the chances he so much wants only disappoints when it really matters.

    • Any young side will struggle with consistency, but everyone can see that talent bleeds from most of the youngsters in the side.

Give them time, they'll give us glory. We have a lot of exciting prospects in this side, when they hit maturity, they'll be very, very hard to stop.
