what gives England the right to use god save the queen? its meant to be for the whole of the uk.
scotland have the choice of scotland the brave or flower of scotland as do the other parts of the union why should england act like they are superior taking that anthem?
Isn't it funny how if a scot or a taffy or paddy becomes successful he becomes BRITISH otherwise they are ignored as not worthy of notice

the tune for God save the queen, and I dont mean the pistols version, was written for an ode to the french king louis the umpteenth to help him get better from his piles.
how the english ended up with a tune written for a french arse is a mystery to us all, but the best rendition i have ever heard was at a celtic rangers match.
*sticks on zadok the priest with the volume up*
I have always looked at myself as English because I live in England, which is a separate country from the Scotlands and Irelands etc, however when you look at the history of the islands, and the effect the Romans, Saxons and Vikings had on us, its only right that we are all regarded as British.
Bloody vikings had to steal all our hot women...leaving me no choice but to pinch one form the US!
Oh yeah the national anthem, lol, I couldn't care less about it, or the monarchy. I do like rule brittania though.
Gutted for Scotland. I said a couple years back they had potential, hope to see them in the next world cup. N.Ireland are the next ones to watch what with Evans and Cathcart coming through.
