    The Tragedy of Football

Well said mate. I can't comment too much on how good a side the Busby Babes were (they were playing 20 years before I was born). But from what I can tell from old news reels and match footage, they were a side capable of outplaying any side in Europe at that time. And in Duncan Edwards they quite possibly had the best footballer of that, or any generation according to Sir Bobby. May the all rest in piece.

    • On local Tv here in northern ireland we had a programme about the legendary keeper Harry Gregg. In it he returned to Munich to the scene of the disaster where he pulled some of his mates from the wreckage and also a woman and her baby whom he met on the recent visit.Harry was visibly shaken by this visit but was at great pains to point out that what he did he did because he was able and did not want or even like to be mentioned as a hero.I can remember as a 14 year old hearing the sad news on the radio as i got ready to go to college and it broke my heart.
