    Another Red Card

I see Liverpoo end up playing against 10 men AGAIN!

    • Ah! Just as I thought Ian - your eyesight is as poor as your understanding of the rules of football.

    • So two legged tackle with studs up on both as he drives through the man is acceptable in your world? The lad should have been given an early shower just for his own stupidity let alone a dangerous challenge that could have quite easily broken a leg.

    • Wasn't Margaret Thatcher still the PM when Liverpool last won the League? And they have never won the Premier League, even though a bunch of Eckythump cloth-caps like Blackburn have!!! Don't laugh - it's wrong to mock the afflicted.....

    • This all sounds very familiar... Isn't it what Kewell came out with when he explained why he had gone to Liverpool instead of United? 'United are on the decline, Liverpool are the up-and-coming team...' How did that work out for you?

I do expect Liverpool to be stronger next season, but then I also expect United to be stronger. You won't be the first team to challenge us, or the last - Blackburn, Arsenal and Chelsea have all strengthened and won during the 17 years of the Premiership, and then gone back to very different levels. And each time they've won, it's been 'the end of the empire / United on the decline'.

Now, I know I can't assume it will last forever, but you shouldn't assume that it will change this year or next year or that your lot will be the ones to do it.

Why should defeats to you change our minds? This isn't the first time you've done the double over us and watched us go on to continue to be the dominant force, while you stay in the background, a big name, but with not so much to show for it.

And again, those 1-0 'shoddy wins' were the difference. Maybe if Liverpool had been shoddier, and got a few more 1-0s instead of draws, youd actually be closing in on the title, instead of talking up next season's chances.

    • Strange that...United keep beating you dippers year after year....and in the trophys stakes....you finally get it together and do the double over us. this year .in games nothing more ,but looking like you will still end up with nothing, and as we have more financial clout/turnover than you dont you think A.F will look at this and improve us for the future....but as usual your'l are too blinkered, and bitter to see that wel'l improve as well to keep in front.....no doubt you might win a carling cup....but wel'l keep being amused by you lot ...so keep it up your'l are funny.....

    • Looks like this thread turned into the usual Manc-Scouse "my d1ck is bigger than your" nonsense that prevails on this board.

But back to the actual red card itself, if it were someone else, we could argue. But this is Joey Barton the idiot thug of a person. He belongs in jail and not on a football pitch! I have never wished injury upon a player, after all, this is their living. But with this disgusting individual, I wish he would suffer a career ending injury just so that we don't end up seeing his fellow professionals have their careers ended, because undoubtedly, it is a matter of time before he seriously injures someone.

    • So, all we have to do is bate the ref for 4 more matches and teh titles ours? Fair does.

Do you really not see how small it makes you look that you can't accept that the better team will win. Right now, I'll reiterate that if we slip up and let Liverpool overtake us, I will happily accept them as having been the better team. Why can't you do the same?

    • Yous have only played 34 games, keep telling yourself that.

      YNWA

    • Rooney, Foster, Ronaldo and Fletcher aren't ready to step up to the mark?

Come on, you're getting desperate. Liverpool have been saying 'we'll win it next year' for, well, 19 years now. You're no more entitled to the championship than we are, and while you're getting stronger, so are United; those players that don't have all the experience this season, like Evans, Rafael, etc will be that much more experienced and that much stronger next season.

Whatever happens in the rest of this season, next season should be good.
