  • Apparently, Tevez believes he can do better elsewhere. He has REJECTED a five-year offer to stay............a hammer BLOW for Man U fans.

    • With Tevez, I am happy to let him go, although I admire him, its all about what we need at United, NOT how good a player he is. If any team could keep a player happily sitting on the bench now and again it would be fine but it would never happen. The reason he didnt get played was not for his lack of quality but for his style of play.

The whole reason we bought another striker was to replace the void that Van Nistlerooy left. But it was ok for a while because of the excellent scoring record Ronaldo brought to the table.
But now he's gone we need someone who can guarantee goals, week in, week out.

Tevez can't do that and for the money for his transfer AND the money he was asking for in wages, It would be ridiculous giving in to his demands considering his goal return.

If Antonio Valencia joins the club (which looks quite likely) we need a striker that is going to get on the end of the deliveries from him. Meaning we need a strong striker who is good in the air, a Drogba-esc type of player but without the moaning, bad attitude and (as of this season) rubbish finishing. If it was down to me a player like Karim Benzema would fit perfectly into our squad providing he can adapt to the English game, which I think is likely as he is a player that has the credentials to do so.

Either way I think Sir Alex knows what he's doing and wouldn't let Ronaldo go without some sort of certain back-up in mind. The reason you never hear any valid transfer rumours about United is because they always keep it all under wraps and don't let you know their plans until the last minute. Look at when we signed Anderson & Nani a couple of seasons ago. Completely unexpected.

So I have complete faith in SAF and am assured he has a plan already in progress

    • For one if you're a gunner why are you even messaging on this board, you should be far more concerned of where you're own team is heading with nothing exciting even speculated about players going to Arsenal. The main reason being that no player wants to move to a club that doesn't win trophies. And I wonder how long Arsenal fans are going to sit there praising their manager for making a team that could never handle winning a title because they have a lack of experience.

    • Its Liverpool-i dont think Tevez would fit in to be honest. I,m a bit concerned about Alonso and Masch poss going, but until then i,m not too sure to be honest.
A striker who can actually score goals would be helpful in case Torres gets injured again. Also a really good left back, would like to see Johnson join us as well. Problem is-where are these players? Some big names come over and cant hack it like shevchenko, morientes etc all come over with great reputations but cant do it in England.
By the way i dont come on here too often, but when i do its normally to talk football, banter is great but it is a football forum after all!

    • Bring on james k ...gunner face....he talks proper football from your board......and demote you to where you belong...the bin.

    • United have lost 2 of the most important players from recent seasons in the departures of Ronaldo and Tevez. I did not want to see either go. In Tevez' case he does not see himself as a squad player and would rather be a big fish in a smaller pool where he is guaranteed a first team start. Whilst I thank and applaud both Ronaldo and Tevez for their great contributions, this now affords others the opportunity to grow in influence, and other younger players the opportunity to come through. United will prevail and no amount of capital letter ranting wind ups from Slayer will change that fact. We can look forward to the coming season without players who feel their time with us is done. Come on United!

    • Nuff said me old muckers, been sold a pup i will never answer questions like why i support arsenal and where i really live henceforth me polythene damp squib

    • Go and check out the official United forums slayer, you'll see that the majority of supporters couldn't give a fuck about him.

That includes me, he can play where he likes as far as I'm concerned, as long as it's not at Old Trafford.
