    New premiership rules

i think its 8 under 21 homegrown players which means utd just do it with exactly 8.
    amos
    j evans
    chester
    drinkwater
    c evans
    macheda
    obertan
    wellbeck

which means u have 24 other players which is 7 too many!

so from the following list u would have to get rid of 7!

    foster
    kus
    VDS

    brown
    da silva
    da silva
    evra
    rio
    neville
    shea
    vidic

    carrick
    fletch
    gibson
    giggs
    haergreaves
    park
    scholes
    tosic
    valencia
    nani
    berbatov
    rooney
    owen

id get rid of kus, neville, park, gibson, owen, brown & tosic

    • "From next season, each club must register a squad of 25 players, no more than 17 of whom can be 21 or older without three years of continuous development in the English game"

"Clubs can also supplement their 25- man squad with a B-list, featuring as many players as they want who were under the age of 21 at the start of the previous January"

So if i'm reading that right, it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be 8 players under 21 in the squad, it depends on how long they've played in England. If you've got a squad of 25 players who've all been playing in the premiership for 3 years or more, then none of them would have to be under 21 in the initial 25. You can then also register on the B list all remaining younger players being brought through.

Out of that squad list, the only foreign players who haven't been playing in the Premiership for 3 years or more are: -

Kiko Macheda - under 21 so no problem there
Gabriel Obertan - 20 years of age, so no problem there
The Da Silva twins - both under 21 again so no problem
Zoran Tosic - 22, so would have to be in the 25

Thats it, so if i've understood it correctly, it would make absolutely no difference to our squad

      • Just read another website on this. I have read that slightly wrong. To add and correct what I previously wrote: -

"The definition of home grown is trained for three years under the age of 21 by somebody in the English and Welsh professional system"

So players we've got over 25 who didn't train for 3 or more years under the age of 21 in this country are: -
        Van Der Sar
        Kuszczak
        Evra
        Vidic
Hargeaves (would that matter for an English international though?)
        Park
        Nani
        Tosic
        Valencia
        Berbatov
Obertan (under 21 at the moment, but would fall into this category in a year or 2)

So if my brains working right (debatable at this time of night!), I still don't see that it would make any difference to our current first team squad.
