I see petrol in Britain is now £1.19p a litre, (AUD$1.98), and is tipped to go higher.
I'm paying $1.28, (£0.77p) a litre and spitting chips!
Petrol is so expensive here there are campaigns to get the governments to decrease taxes.
We pay state AND federal taxes on petrol, you pay only one, and get your petrol cheaper.
We also have distances to contend with, Cairns' petrol comes thousands of kilometres, and is one of the reasons given for the prices, yours comes from just round the corner.
So how do people afford to use their cars there, apart from trips to the local Tescos?
