    A draw a fair result

I thought we started excellently in this game, for about the first 15-20 minutes. A good pace to the play that put Fulham on the back foot from the off and we deserved to take the lead through a superb trade mark Scholesy belter.

What happened for the next hour of the game to start with was something quite different. As we saw too many times last season, we took our foot off the gas a little which allowed Fulham back into the game, and full credit to them, they played very well. I thought our wingers let us down defensively. There were huge gaps left on the wings at the back at times, and Fulham deservedly got level for the first time.

There was very little to choose between the teams from then on and it could easily have gone either way. Lady luck was on our side a couple of times. Firstly we should have conceded a penalty for Vidic's silly shirt tug, then the own goal to put us back into the lead, then the penalty we got for handball against Duff, which Nani missed. That would have been really harsh on Fulham. We could have conceded a penalty for similar against O'Shea shortly after, I wouldn't have given that one either.

The most annoying part though was our lack of ability to then keep hold of the ball and keep possession to see out this game, allowing Fulham to get back at us again and deservedly earn a point.

I don't think anyone can argue with a draw from this game. An improvement from the last two visits to Craven Cottage if nothing else, but a lot to improve on from our point of view. Disappointing after a good start.

    • i see it as a fair result too, perhaps we were a little lucky, but having lost there 2 seasons running, its a point more than the last 2, with the late equaliser it could be seen as 2 points dropped, but when you look at the fulham chances, its a good point in my eyes.
look back at last season after 2 games arsenal had 6 points, we had 3 points having lost at burnley, today we have the same points after 2 games so we have gained whereas they have actually lost 2 points, chelsea have 6 like they did last season, it will be chelsea and united top 2 again no doubt about it, and this point could actually be a very big point from a below average performance because believe me, fulham will be hard to beat for anyone.

    • The penalty you got from Duff was very harsh and it just as well for non-United fans that it was missed. A penalty against O'Shea would have been even harsher (except to balance things) as the ball didn't even hit his hand, as far as I could see.

      Exciting finish.

    • id say fulham deserved to win especially as 1 of your goals was an own goal & even more so because of the clear tug by vidic.
the ref bottled giving a pen against utd but was quick to give it for them.

i thought u looked better for the first 20mins but then fulham took over.

i dont expect utd to take their foot off the pedal at 1-0 but thats what it seemed like u did.

1 utd player who does worry me is evans. when he 1st came on the scene he looked really solid & confident.

but since early last yr he has suddently looked very shaky & unconfident.

he still seems to be playing with a lack of confidence & conviction. i highly rate him which is why im so suprised about his long dip in form.

im trying to think when this lack of confidence started & the away game to milan springs to mind. the game where they had about 5 chances in the 1st 20mins & evans was all over the place. i remember fergie on the sidelines screaming, shouting & laying into evans who looked a hurt player from that moment on.

maybe im wrong & have looked way too deeply into his form etc

I think defensively, it was from the wings that let us down. Park in particular in the first half was drifting far too infield, which left big gaps on the flanks for Fulham to counter.

Not so. An UNFAIR result to Fulham who deserved to win this match.

Another LUCKY escape by a very POOR Man U side, Fulham were the better side by a country mile.
