looked more like his old self today - was alert, didn`t give Torres an inch of space and on a couple of occasions carried the ball forward and started attacks. Also another good performance from Rafael and the midfield really picked up when Anderson came on.
did quite well Evans hit the post with his header.
But nothing has changed..United were still awful..kept losing the ball in midfield..+ couldnt finish of a team with 10men low on confidence.
Think what barca would have done.
As you mention Anderson, I was surprised he didn't start. Carrick knocked the ball around well today, but I don't know whats happened to Fletcher so far this season. His passing was very sloppy and he's still struggling to find his better form.

devon, if u only have to keep a striker quiet for 30mins to have a good game then your standards have dropped.
torres is quiet for for long spells in games but comes alive all & destroys teams.
as u say, torres is hugely out of form anyway.
if a striker is playing poorly i dont know how that automatically means any CB he faces had him in his pocket.
Agreed that he played well and it should restore some confidence back in himself. He's not had a great season when he's played for the most part, and he can be happy with his contribution today. Unlucky not to score at the end of the first half also.
Rafael just gets better every time he plays, and its a joy to watch him. I can see him adding a few goals to his game soon also. I'd be interested to see him take a freekick.
too be fair liverpool were a man light for an hr so your defenders were always going to outnumber there attack & have an easy ride.
i wouldnt look too deeply into a defenders performance against an out of form liverpool with 10men for 30mins.
