  • are clear when at least 4 Newcastle players would walk into United's team. The Argie central defender, both central midfielders and of course Ba.
well played Newcastle fully deserved victory.
I know Smalling coming back will help the defense immensely . but its looking like a 2005 year to me.
Top 4 is not a done deal at this stage of the season given the away games at the top clubs yet to come.
At the moment things are coming apart a bit.
At times like this you need your 'big' players to walk tall, Rooney is hiding in the long grass.

    • but butterfly it also works the other way, spurs only need to get some sort of result against city to give utd a helping hand.

    • Sorry to break it to you ladies, but Rooney is not a good player. Stop placing your hopes on him. He'll lead the club further and further away from the title.

      • Richard, I think you may be overstating the case a little. He clearly is a 'good' player, however not as 'good' as either he thinks he is, and others lead him to believe he is. On his day he can be devastating, but there are far too few of these. And when he's bad he can be horrid. My point has been that he absorbs too much of United's revenue stream in wages and too much EQ in the team per performance level. I am assuming United would not wish to replicate these compensation levels with another player, so he is an obstacle to higher performance levels to the whole team. So he should be sold once a suitable rising world star can be persuaded to sample the delights of rainy Manchester. Could take some time!

      • I think you should place the blame on Fergie insrtead. And the Glazers and those uits as well. They're the reason why we're in this mess. They, especially Fergie, have tortured, defiled, betrayed, deceived and humiliated uus for the past 2 and a half years!!!! They've brought us nothing but misfortne and shame!!! I hope God will hand out their karma to them be having them ousted in a popular uprising by the players, staff and fans of Uniited, struck by lightning, sent to hell and left to rot and burn there!!!! Satanic trash like them don't dersve a place in a great club like Unite, or in society, for that matter!!!! And you don't have to worry abouyt them not reading my posts. God is watching, and i believe he'll answer my requests.

      • Poor Rooney, I guess Fergie will drop him again for 'HAVING ANOTHER BAD NIGHT OUT ON THE TOON!'

        LMFAO

    • I agree with Devon for all he says about Spurs. I envy their midfield (maybe except for Lennon).

Spurs are due a good result against us so I am not expecting much from the Spurs away game. I think we'll grab a win against one of the top teams but can see a defeat or two if we don't get our act together or sustain more injuries.

Our current situation is bleak mainly due to the absence of Vidic and someone in midfield to take the game by the scruff of the neck and play with pace and imagination.

Well said Jim, but the biggest problem still lies with Fergie, as well as those bloody Glazers and the board. They've totally misrun the club by not injecting new talent into the squad and also habdling Fletcher's illness in such an irresponsible manner, by failing to refer him to more qualified doctors to assess his condition and and then withholding his condition for the public. Fergie, the board and the Glazers have done nothing but take us backwards and bleed us dry. They've decieved, cheated, betrayed, violated, and humiliated the club and its fans. What they've done to Fletcher and to us is totally unforgivable and unacceptable. They're nothing but parasites, jinxes, morons, and total garbage. They're nothing but the spawns of Satan. Everything they touch turns bad!!!! They better resign and vanish from the face of this world, and i hope God hands them their retribution by stoning them and sending them to hell and letting them burn and rot there starightaway, as worthless, demonic vermin like them don't deserve to be in a great club like United, nor do they deserve to exist in this world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UNITED RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT FERGUSON, GLAZERS AND THE BOARD GO ROT AND BRUN IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Cheer up jim.......... As bad as the drubbing at Sports Direct stadium was, It's only a game.

    • Devon, Robert I have this 'Arsenal idiot' who insists on wasting his life on here, on ignore. I hope you 2 do as well so we can continue intelligent discussions.

    • Spurs only need a draw to put a damper on Man U's title race and help City's quest for glory.

If last season's encounter between Spurs and Man U at WHL is anything to go by, I'm pretty sure your lot are well-equipped for at least a draw this time around against an unconvincing Man U side without Vidic.

Also, the only side assured of top 4 finish this season is Man City. The remaining 3 places for CL now looks like a straight fight between Man U, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

    • I second all of that, Devon. However I suspect City will prove to be too strong. Mancini has spent well, and he inherited two excellent guys in goal and central defense. They are a very strong squad

    • thanks devon. yes i think its more a mental thing when we play utd. or when we finally get over the mental side, the ref screws us over.

i agree we probably have the best midfield in the prem. we also have sandro who is under rated, he is going to be a top DM!

i personally think we will finish between 3rd-6th. if i was offered 4th now or wait & see what happens? then id have to take 4th now!

like all teams we are vunerable if key players get injured. no replacement for bale, modric or ade. we arent playing that well in the last few wks bar the norwich game, but we have been getting draws or wins when in past years we would lose.

    • once upon a time spurs never beat arsenal, so I`m not pinning my hopes on utd maintaining their excellent record against then. And don`t forget you`ve got a game in hand over both utd and city. If utd don`t win the title I`d much prefer that it was spurs - and that`s not just because of my dislike of city. Spurs have always played the game in the right way and Redknapp has built his team without the use of vast amounts of money. When you think of where spurs were when he took over his is probably the outstanding achievement of the last few seasons. Also your midfield is the best in the premiership - Modric provides the flair, Parker the steel and Bale and Lennon the speed and width. I think you lack depth in defence and are probably one striker short upfront so injuries could have a big influence on how you do for the rest of the season.
