This could go either way, newcastle have been poor since manager signed massive contract, but we have not exactly been fantastic.
We will have to wait to see what changes Fergie makes, hopefully either Jones or Smalling will partner Vidic, probably Smalling as Jones will most likely be on right wing.
And lets just hope Vidic can get through the rest of the season, in a few games his match fitness will be back and that should help us.
I think Scholes may start, maybe Valencia will be dropped, as he has not done well recently.
If both are fit then Vidic and Evans should be the centre back pairing and against Newcastle the width supplied by Valencia and Young should be invaluable with Rooney and Van Persie in the middle and Carrick and Cleverly in centre of midfield.Right back will be Rafael if fit and if not then Jones will slot in there.

So you want the same team out that could not beat swansea?
Valencia has been very poor recently, young hasnt been much better, so one or both need to be replaced, smalling is a better centre back than evans, who's tactical game is not great.
I would have Anderson instead of cleaverly, as he is a bit more physical.

Fair scoreline, Newcastle have benn the better side so far, and could have been 3-1 up, there second was one that could have either way, but as to evans, he scored then very poor defending gave them a goal, then bad positioning led to having to handball and yellow card.
Of course our squad needs strengthening in midfield and defence.
Our attack bailed us out yet again, but all this posturing about how it was a 'great advert for the EPL' is utter bollocks. The football was mostly dire.
sounds like another mental game involving utd this season.
whos fault was it u conceded another 3?
utd should wrap up the title by april I reckon.
lucky for u city keep faith with mancini who is an average manager. he is continuing to get as little as possible out of that team. they would have walked the league last yr & this yr with a better manager.
& don't get started on his management in the CL!
he is truely found wanting.
u can concentrate on the CL now because you know u can drop many pts & mancini will make sure city don't capitalise.
Stefan, the premiership as a whole is of a much lower standard.
this utd team shouldn't be winning the title but will due to the much lower standards of the premiership.
the CL highlightes this even more.
the defending in the premiership has become a joke!
"Our attack bailed us out yet again, "
Against a team won have lost SEVEN out of their 9 games.
The result today was never in doubt against an average Magpies side without arguably their THREE best players - Ben Arfa, Tiote, and Cabaye.
West Brom would be a different kettle of fish though - now that's the ultimate test for ManUre.
Dont bet on that babe, last season coity were 10 points behind much later on than now and still went on to win, so no, we cant afford to keep dropping points, as city do have enough quality players to win inspite of their manager
She's right, Clive.
With Mancini at the helm, it's like a boxing match against an opponent who has one of his/her hands tied behind their back. Mancini is pretty average manager, end of. He was lucky last season with the title because manUre are an average side too.
