Manchester United Message Board
We've had a few lately, haven't we? Almost takes the shine off an enjoyable week (wedding anniversary, and Thatcher's death).
I was surprised at Giggs starting - I know he brings unparallelled experience, and great skill, but he's rarely been asked to play a match from start to finish the last few seasons, and certainly not games against such strong opposition. I don't think it's a coincidence that his mistake, setting up City's opening goal, came after he'd been playing for nearly an hour.
I don't think Anderson was fit, but Cleverely might have been a better starting choice, with Giggs coming off the bench later. Hell, if another defender had been fit, maybe we'd have started with Jones in midfield, but that's all just maybes.
Credit to City, they played well, and whenever Touré's fit, they're that much harder to beat. As for us? We started well, but did seem to run out of ideas in midfield. If i"m correct, we still need only 3 wins and a draw to regain the title, but last season should always stand as a reminder to not take anything at all for granted.
The truth Utd are not good enough,iv'e been saying that for the last few yrs.
We don't have a midfield,& the defenders just crumble against top opposition .
Utd have been awful for a long while, & got away with it..& fergie knows this.
Rooney only thinks to be in the team is his right, but he's not world class & inconsistent.
I said Utd took on too much this season,& now look burnt out..so easy pickings for a good team to exploit.
The Prem is not a certainty now...they are crumbling..as usual.

See, that just sounds a bit hyperbolic to me. Äwful"? We're still odds on to win this title, we missed out on the last one by goal difference, and we won the one before that.
This is not the sign of an äwful"team. There are issues, and I don't think anyone has pretended otherwise, but I just don't think it's as world-ending as you're thinking. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion.
I don't think Rooney is taking it for granted, or at least, that's not the impression I get. He's not at his best now, but I don't think there's an attitude problem.
An there is a danger of crumbling, but again, "äs usual" seems more hyperbole. It happened last season, no doubt, but you make it sound far more established than that.
I don't know if this is a windup, but there is a lot of truth in what you say, Fergie knows he 's been given a free ride this season, but fair due's uniTURD have kept going. As for last nights match , great game , but city to me are different class when they turn up, MOTM, for me Jones , why he didn't get it I don't know, a mans performance.
