Aston Villa Message Board
A deal doing what ? Washing the kit ? Cutting oranges for half time ?
Nope - as MoN states, he has "done good".
Anyone agree ? I seriously can't remember hearing his name mentioned during most matches.

I take it all back. With apologies to Villaman and Petrov himself I think he is at last starting to show promise.
Let's hope the results keep going our way - at last we're starting to win those games that we used to lose 2 or even 3 points in against crap sides (let's just put Stoke down as being a blip). If the Villa can gather the points the way they are at the moment and then win at least a couple of the big games, we could be right up there at the end of the season.
I know all the big teams come out with the standard "it isn't important" when they lose in the League Cup, but I have to say I'm glad we're out. Just noticed we'd have had Man United again if we'd have beaten QPR.
A great UEFA cup run and we'll be back on the map.
Up the Villa!
Petrov has not been consistant, has not proved his worth relating to his transfer fee, and does not deserve the faith MoN seems to have in him. I have seen more bad performances than good. He is mediocre, dull, and negative.
My opinion for what it is worth.
Thought Petrov was a liability last season.....saw him against Man Citeh.........not impressed, maybe if he played in his correct position, he would play to his true potential.
What is his true position anyway?
I think he does a good job. He is not worth £8m and that hangs around his neck like a millstone. I would give him a new contract, he probably will lose his place when everyone is fit but we will need him if we have a good UEFA run and when Saint Gareth eventually F*cks off.
Good work, Slag off Petrov who tries his best and wants to play for the club. Harewood next?
You went to great lengths to explain why Barry should 'be given a chance', but not Petrov?

Villaman - it's my opinion and I'm not forcing it on anyone which is why I asked for opinions.
Let's agree to disagree. I wouldn't criticize his effort in any way but I don't think he's a decent player. Barry is.
As for Harewood - I think he has a lot to prove too. Harewood is still fairly new and could get better. I think Petrov has been around long enough to have become a good player and in my opinion he hasn't managed it.
