    Something doesn't add up

Houllier says about Karim Benzema "we would sign him tomorrow" if he becomes available.

Apparently he cost Real Madrid about 30 million quid in 2009. Just a few months ago we were told that Martin O'Neill would have to sell players before being able to buy any new ones.

So what has changed? If this sort of money is available, why didn't MoN get it? Something really doesn't add up.

    • to be honest pg, after the money that randy had given mon, (spit spit) and to a degree seen wasted, he was out of trust. mon (die mf) was given a lot of wonda a bought players that he seemed not to deem good enough for the first team.

benzema will not cost us 30 million as jose will simply want him off the wage bill. i would suggest that this is paper talk and eloboration on something oullier said, as i do not think that even if we can raise the cash we will want to pay his wage demands. these guys pay very little tax in spain due to goverment deals with sports stars, so giving him the pick up wage packge that he is on now would cost us 50 % more than real pay him.

      just my thoughts.

      villa 'til i die.

      • Cheers for the info mike.
I think you're right about it being paper talk anyway. Apparently United are interested in him too. He didn't look great against England last night and he isn't the sort of player I think we need anyway. What we want is an old fashioned centre forward.

Speaking of England I'm amazed at how Capello can make a team made up of some of the fastest players in England look that bad. Why the ckuf did we sell Crouch?
