    Leeds vs Barnsley

    Based on recent history, a draw looks likely.. Barnsley has strengthened its side, with Gai Assulin and Nile Ranger, while Leeds is a bit unsettled. Defensively, we are playing better but seem to have lost our scoring boots.

    • 'Think the team to face Barnsley will be:
      McCarthy;
      Connolly, Lees, Kisnorbo, White;
      Snodgrass, Clayton, Howson, Pugh;
      Becchio, McCormack.
      Subs: Cairns, Bromby, Nunez, Sam, Forssell.
      The Tykes will be eager to use their new attacking threat, which our back four, with a combination of pace and experience, should be able to deal with. If our wide players can stretch the Barnsley defence, Becchio will reek havoc in their 18 yard box, allowing McCormack to do what he does best - score! However, as ever, the result will swing on the ability of our midfield to control the game. For the first time in a long time, I am backing Johnny Howson to play a blinder - Leeds 3-1 Barnsley!

    • The Tykes are no pushover, home or away, just ask the Tigers! At home a draw is not such a good result, but a point in the hand is worth three on the sheet!

      • I have come to the conclusion that no team is a pushover in this division.
        The Tykes have just made a couple of good loan signings which will give them a boost, and if we play like we did last week we will be in serious trouble.
        I will take it that Larry has sorted it out ('banking' and all), and we might just manage a 1-0 or 2-1 with a bit of luck. MOT

      • A point down the neck is better still Easy!
        Hard to call a result on this game. We need to continue the momentum achieved recently and to be ultra positive but not leave the gate open in midfield for the likes of young Jacob Butterfield and co to exploit. This lad is good and if we are to lose Howson in the January Sales then he would at 21 be a more than adequate replacement if old Titus would push the cash to get him. I would like to see us thrash a team convincingly as it it has been a long time coming at ER. A Barnsley Bashing would be ok, as most agree we owe them one! Well that's likely to put the mockers on that. I'll say no
        more and get back to the point before it goes flat.
