Serious Question BATES IN OR OUT?

5*s If you want Bates out
1* If you want him in.
Please give your reasons for either.
I will start OUT he promised the Premiership ,we Premiership Prices remember Bates, 7 years - 25 points administration, no money invested by yourself (admitted this), contracts left to ruin, Poor stewarding at Elland Road no concessions, Young prospects sold on, loanies brought in, money spent on rent for Thorpe when you promised you would purchase it, I could go on but you get it!

    • I think those numbers are dwindling mate, with Bates so called break even figure 25k, next season your looking at sub 20k with his price increase so I think Leeds must get promoted this year or he will start loosing money plus what he has to pay back for the East Stand, are Company's going to pay for executive boxes in an empty Elland Road? Is Bates getting as much money in his account before he sells up ie: Season ticket sales now then at the end of the season when Snoddy goes for plus 5 Million? M.O.T BATES OUT PLEASE

    • The 19 questions, set out below, were addressed to Peter Lorimer following his “Leeds, United, are very hard to beat” article in the YEP. Most fans would answer ‘No’ to all the questions. Peter Lorimer, as Ken Bates’ mouthpiece, would be obliged to answer ‘Yes’ but the words would stick in his craw.
The purpose of Lorimer’s article was to call for Leeds fans to unite behind the team – the clue is in the title with the word ‘United’ separated by commas – but, as Lorimer is now seen as a toady in Bates’ pay, the article backfired; serving only to get fans backs up.
The questions highlight the many aspects of supporter discontentment at the club. Yet, incredibly, there is still a significant number of Leeds fans ‘buying into’ Bates’ propaganda.

      1. Do you agree with the way LUFC is run?
      2. Do you think ticket prices are fair?
      3. Do you think [it is right] that casual attendees, lads and dads, have to pay full whack if they want to watch a match at Elland Road?
      4. Do you think that it is fair that members have to pay £40 just for the privilege of being able to purchase tickets?
      5. Do you think it was a good move to ban the BBC from Elland Road?
      6. Do you think it is a good idea to cut down on your catchment by taking all radio broadcasting in house and losing £700,000 per year for the right to do this, whilst turning down income from prospective broadcasters?
      7. Do you want your club to continue to be run by someone who threatened to destroy it unless he gained financially?
      8. Do you agree that the fans inside Elland Road are policed by cheap hired bouncers who relish confrontation?
      9. Do you like the fact that our chief executive once referred to Leeds as 'White S***e’?
      10. Do you like the fact that we were repeatedly lied to that we were selling Fabien Delph in order to re-purchase Thorp Arch?
      11. Do you like having a chairman who, for seven years has spoken of investors and has not managed to attract any at all in all of that time?
      12. Do you like the fact that throughout West Yorkshire, young kids do not see Leeds United gear in shops to even give them a chance of choosing us over Manchester United or Chelsea?
      13. Do you like the fact that our money is being spent on serial court cases and legal fees to satisfy our litigious cantankerous 80-year-old chairman?
      14. Do you like the fact that many members of the Supporters club, who were the lifeblood of the club, never missing a game, have been given pariah status by a chairman who countenances no dissenting voices?
      15. Do you think it is right that I have a season ticket renewal sitting on my table asking me to pay up front SEVEN months before the start of the next season, with no clue as to what I will be paying for?
      16. Do you like the fact that we, as fans have to pay prices equating to a champions league side, yet our club serially sell their talented players for peanuts and we continue to turn up and watch mediocrity?
      17. Do you like the way that the club fails to negotiate new contracts with our talent and allow the situation to reach the stage where we are over a barrel?
      18. Do you like the fact that, since our relegation in 2004 we have over 60 loan players representing us?
      19. Do you like the fact that our match day programme is the most expensive in Britain?

Peter, some questions for you as a member of the board... Do you agree with the way LUFC is being run at the moment ? Do you think ticket prices are fair ? Do you think that casual attendees, lads and Dads have to pay full whack if they want to watch a match at Elland Road ? Thats how I first came to watch you in a Leeds shirt, I doubt that would ever have happened under current cicumstances. Do you think that it is fair that members have to pay £40 just for the priviledge of being able to purchase tickets ? Do you think it was a good move to ban the BBC from Elland Road ? Do you think it is a good idea to cut down on your catchment by taking all radio broadcasting in house and losing £700,000 per year for the right to do this, whilst turning down income from prospective broadcasters ? Do you want your club (I'm assuming LUFC are your club) to continue to be run by someone who threatened to destroy it unless he gained financially ? Do you agree that the fans inside Elland Road are policed by cheap hired bouncers who relish confrontation ? Do you like the fact that our chief executive once referred to Leeds as 'White S***e' ? Do you like the fact that we were repeatedly lied to that we were selling Fabien Delph in order to re-purchase Thorp Arch ? Do you like having a chairman who , for 7 years has spoken of investors and has not managed to attract any at all in all of that time ? ( Think about how long that is, My lad was 17 years old, he's now 24 !! We are still waiting) Do you like the fact that throughout West Yorkshire, young kids do not see Leeds United gear in shops to even give them a chance of choosing us over Manchester United or Chelsea ? Do you like the fact that our money is being spent on serial court cases and legal fees to satisfy our litigious cantankerous 80 year old chairman ? Do you like the fact that many members of the Supporters club, who were the lifeblood of the club, never missing a game , have been given pariah status by a chairman who countenances no dissenting voices? Do you think it is right that I have a season ticket renewal sitting on my table asking me to pay up front SEVEN months before the start of the next season, with no clue as to what I will be paying for ? Do you like the fact that we, as fans have to pay prices equating to a champions league side , yet our club serially sell their talented players for peanuts and we continue to turn up and watch mediocrity? Do you like the way that the club fails to negotiate new contracts with our talent and allow the situation to reach the stage where we are over a barrel ? Do you like the fact that, since our relegation in 2004 we have have over SIXTY loan players representing us ? Do you like the fact that our matchday programme is the most expensive in Britain ? Our club is rotten from the top down. If you, or anyone else, can't see that after 7 years of this s**t, then you never will. And you say we are making progress ? Don't be daft lad. No doubt there will be someone else along in a moment to defend the indefensible.

    • Oh! Consider yourself forgiven! Bates from this distance is not easy to stomach, play on words there somewhere, so what it must be like from where you are, Ugh! Bit like the meals thedy serve up in the "Jungle Camp", " I am a Star. Get me Outta Here"!

    • Glad it was'nt The Shawshank Redemption Al, that would really have me worried.

    • That was Tom in that movie, the bird man of Elland Road. Ken Bates was the Warden.
