    Loan players

When I first heard the rumour that Leeds was looking to bring in Jermaine Jenas on loan I had the same ‘feeling’ as when Austin and Diouf appeared on the club’s radar: namely, a player Leeds needs – the guy has real talent.
Already, some fans are knocking Jenas as a “sick note” liability – probably the same fans that knocked Austin and Diouf as “red card” liabilities – but if you look at his record, Jenas has had only one major injury. Okay, he has been out of the game for a couple of seasons but you can bet that he will play his sock off at Leeds to redeem his reputation.
Other players Leeds is strongly rumoured to be looking to loan are DJ Campbell and Cameron Jerome – I’d take Jerome.
A young Fulham player with potential, Pajtim Kasami has been linked with a loan move to Leeds but some of our own youngsters have potential and it would be a disincentive for them if Kasimi was brought in – I can’t see this happening.
Stoke, a club that needs to cut its costs, has a few players surplus to its requirements that Leeds has been rumoured to be interested in: Michael Tonge, Mama Sidibe, Danny Higginbotham, and Wilson Palacios – Neil Warnock has worked with Tonge before but if I was to pick one of these players to add a bit of icing to the Leeds team it would be Palacios.
To keep the relatively good start to this season’s campaign going I reckon Neil needs at least three loan signings. My choices would be Jenas, Jerome, and Palacios.
    ‘Any thoughts, lads?
