To be fair, to the leek supporter that CLAIMS Delilah came from them, his argument being... ''in the pub we used to sing songs, Delilah was one of them''
haha, I think you'll find that song is sung up and down the country in pubs every bloody weekend by pissed up youths, everybody knows that, some even having no idea that its used by stoke city fans, Its just one of them songs, and we adopted it. I believe It was started by TJ, one of our old guard fans a long time ago in the Vic after a game, thats what I heard, then it caught on. A Meir coincidence that you sang it once or twice with yer pals, back in tha day once you'd had a few scoops.
Not avin ago, but come on now.
There's my pennys worth!
Come on the potters!

It started in the late 80,s early ninetys when stoke got relegated. In the bothen end they had big red doors we used to sing " so before they come to open the doors, forgive us stoke city we just couldn,t take anymore, every game was so boring tj would amuse everyone by singing this song , there was a few versions of it, one was " i saw her mot as she pissed on the pot by the window ohhh ohhh, i smelt the ciggerette singe on her minge all night long ohhh ohhh, she stood there laughing, i put my dick in her and and she laughed no more, the rest is history as they say...
Afraid you are all wrong, it started way back in the late 80's, when Leek Town F.C. were doing well, and they went to Wembley for the F.A. Trophy. On the way they even beat Stafford Rangers, who were a very good Conference side at that time. The players, manager (Neil Baker) and back-room staff would gather in the bar after the cup matches, and my brother (the then physio, Jim Robinson) often led them in the sing-songs, of which Delilah was one. It was then carried over to Stoke City, and every time I hear it it reminds me of Leek's halcyon days, with Mozzer, Smithy, etc.
