The Madness & selfishness of Doping

    The Madness ?
    The Selfishness ?
    The Stupidity ?
The madness has to be the future health implications for those who take enhancements.
The selfishness is the Taking of the moment of standing on the podium receiving the jersey in front of the admiring fans & supporters
The stupidity has to be the "Glory by Deception" ,when these "Cyclodopes" stand on the podium they are only confessing that they are incapabal of really competing "Rider to Rider".
I think that any rider...ANY should be banned for life.I also think that the entire team should be excluded from a race at that time.
The Director of these teams should be made responsible for submittal of tests prior to any race.
Just like a jockey stands on the scales before and after a horse race, the riders should all provide a sample of whatever required before & after each stage

LE TOUR DE FRANCE IS THE GREATEST RACE IN THE WORLD.
    EVERYONE SHOULD PROTECT IT
NO ONE SHOULD BE AFRAID TO SAY (RIDER,DIRECTOR,PRESS OFFICIAL AND SO ON) IF THEY HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THE ACTIONS OF ANY RIDER.
    PROTECT THIS WONDERFUL CYCLE RACE

I'll get off the soap box now........Heres to Paris !!

    • Go a little further. The tour is one of greats of sports. Yes doping does not belong BUT one side there are many false positives. Unless a test is 100 percent correct then should not be tested. If (and am not expert on this) you eat, drink, any substance and it can change test then is not a good test but if test can identify substance 2 yrs is a good 1st violation. Look from life view if you are fired from job are you bad employee? What is .08? What does that mean?
If you made a mistake at 18-20 or whatever should it be there 30 yrs later. Cyclings rookies seem to start at 24-25, peak at 27-28 and maybe end at 35. That is 10-11 yrs so 2 yr ban affects that. Each individual is responsible for themselves. If at work you have project fall through is it everyones fault? Keep cycling clean and going forward

      • Here, here!!

The vast majority of cyclists - whether they are recreational, sports or professional are clean and do not need to take proformance enhancing substances ( apart from energy gel's and energy drinks ) to get the best out of their abilities.

Using Dwayne Chambers as a prime example, he is banned from participating at this summer's Olympics because he was caught taking a banned substance -and rightly so!!

Now back to cycling - a rider like Ricco will have time to reflect on what he did in the 2 year ban that is automatically imposed for a first-time drug-cheat ... it happened to David Miller and he has now seen the stupid mistake he made in taking drugs to enhance his chances of winning!!!
