    Too many players @ Tottenham?

How many players do we have now? I just cant keep count. What will all the young players and the players coming through the academy, you wonder if there is any room for them to play in the team? Ziegler is really young, but plays first team, but yet Dean Marney is too but struggles to get a place. Then we go buy more good talent like Wayne Routledge, but when will he play? I hope we dont push any away because they get too disallusioned.

    • i think jenas is a good player..he will develop...i just think newcastlw (in the end) dragged his game back he shows a lot of confidence at time but his short passing needs to improve...... against fulham he gave ball away loads...
lennon super sub totaly good idea...but i think he is the srt ofplayer who sTART AND FINISH A GAME ON TOP...
KEANE IS A GREAT SUPER SUB BECAUSE HE PLAYS THE GAME IN SHORT SPURTS OF ENERGY..I FIND THAT WHEN KEANE STARTS A MATCH HE IS TO INDIVIDUAL...DEFOE ON THE OTHER HAND IS NOT THE SELFFISH PLAYER PEOPLE THINK HE IS HE IS ACTUALLY A MASSIVE TEAM PLAYER WHO RUNS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND BRINGS OVER PEOPLE INTO THE GAME BY HOLDING THE BALL UP.

    • Ziegler is out on loan.
      So is Marney.
Routledge is injured for at least a few months.
We are building for the future.
And you don't know what your talking about.
      Please please please.

    • Look at all the injury nightmares we have had in the last few seasons. Having all these extra players should see us through things like that next season

    • Yes I agree ! Spurs seem to be signing too many mediocre players, instead of a good experienced playmaker in midfield, I thought Michael Carrick would assume that role, but he has been playing as the anchorman, but I must add ! doing a good job in that position. Mendes has been a bit disappointing to me, he don't seem to have the cutting edge like he showed at Porto.
Also I think we need to replace Freddi Kanoute, he scores some spectacular goals ! but the chance ratio is about 1 : 10 and that isn't good enough in the Premiership.

      • Relax, Uncle Jol is doing a great job. Our next signing should be a new football director, so that he can do the best job he possibly can... then we can really start motoring again! Teemu Tainino sounds like a great player by the way...will no doubt work his socks off by the way Martin Jol was describing his performances. All we need now is for Kilinsmann to come out of retirement, quit the German job and come sit on our bench as a 5th striker, for the last 15 mins of every game, and we're sorted!! lol

    • Fair point, but I think you need about 2 players for each position to make things competetive. Of the players you mentioned, I think Routledge and Marney are competing for the right wing position, along with Reid who can play either side. Zeigler and Lennon can then battle it out with Reid, and Routledge (who can also play on either wing if needed). Mendes can play out wide if needed too, but him, Carrick, Davis, Tainino, Huddlestone, Brown - will form the centre - and backbone of the midfield I reckon... so I'm not sure the youngsters will feel pushed out, and when they are called upon, we've got a great deal of backup in the squad - so it should be a comfortable transition when being called into the first team. If anything one or two Teenagers might need blooding in the striking positions to keep the more senior players' heads up. I do think we have far too many centre halves... but then again - no-one ever criticised George Graham for that particular habit when at Arsenal!
