Bring in the reserves or work the 1st's?

Do you think we should rest players for either the Braga game or Watford at home?

I say make all non-injured players earn their wages and Spurs field their strongest team in all remaining games.

Braga beat Parma(?) away from home last round to get through to next round. Likewise, Watford are desperate for a win.

At least we have'nt got whingers in our team complaining about the amount of games. Its good not having pretty boy french/spanish etc complaining.

    • I think we can be proud of this year, and while you can toss-up which has been the better season, I think we can see this year as part of a progression.

We've had to play more of a squad game this season, which we didn't have to last year due to the lack of cup games and the absence of europe. We're still reliant on a handful of individuals, and the guys that were doing it for us last season have either been injured, off-colour or left.

    • Levy will be happy with the tv coverage and gate reciepts, I bet he thinks its a bloody good season. but i think that a good season now would be holding on to top players and that probably means winning something and getting into europe. i know thats more than were used to but i reckon if the players expect to win stuff then so should we. and we are actually good enough to do it without hoping for good luck.

    • We're only 5 points behind bolton who are in 5th and play manchester united at the weekend so will probably lose and we're against watford and you'd hope we'd win - that only puts us 2 points off the place we achieved last season (yes I know we were close to 4th last season but we didn't get it so it doesn't matter - doesn't matter how close you get if you don't get it).

If we can get 5th again I'll be happy, that's the UEFA cup again which considering we've been nowhere near a 5th finish for years exept last year is good - if we'd been offered back to back 5th finishes at the start of last year I'm sure most of us would have taken it.

Not only that we've played many, many more games than last year and looked great in the cups even if league form was slow at the beginning. We're certainly moving in the right direction.

Last years chance to get 4th created a slightly false impression of how far we've come I think, yes we're nearly there but we don't have a good enough squad yet to challenge for 4th and do well in 3 cups. Last year we only played 40 games and remember our important players didn't get injured for too long - King for instance, played most games last season but we've looked much worse at the back without him this year and he's been out for ages.

We're certainly getting better and if we get into the EUFA cup positions in the league (5th or even 6th) then with the good cups runs we've had (EUFA especially), then I will consider it a better season than last year. It's our first season in Europe for ages and we've quite comfortably won every game!

Remember this year we beat chelsea at the lane and should have beaten them away even with about 5 or 6 first team players out of the side. Certainly an improvement.

How on earth are we doing better this season?? Last season we were on the verge of getting in the Champions League but for the last game of the season. This season we've been struggling all year and it's only recently that we've started to find some good form in the league as well as cups.

You can't use cup runs to define a season unless we win something, or at least get to the final. But we need to be challenging for a Champions League place year after year in order to attract the big names to us and keep our better players.

Hopefully we will get into Eruope again this season, and I would be ecstatic if we won the FA and/or UEFA Cup, but until then we can't compare our achievements this season to those of last season.

    • To get back into Europe again AND beat the scum would definately make it a better season than last year!!

    • If we finish 5th it would be a decent season but thats if cos its definatly not a when. Would be a bonus as i'm not really expecting it, another great bonus which would def make this season better then last would be to beat the scum next month.

    • Ok, 1 point off sixth. But 5th place is most definately attainable with our run-in.

    • Of course our season's achievements don't match last year. YET. We went out of all the cups at the first hurdle last year and finished 5th. Currently we've got to one semi-final, are not far off another semi-final also have not only taken part in European competition but we've conquered every team we've come across so far and look set for another quarter final here which I expect to progress from. Also we are 1 single point + a few goals away from reaching 5th spot, which was our one sole achievement last year.

I'm not counting chickens but the season's not really looking so bad, is it?

    • Would like to see Hudd play CB tonight as that used to be his position (until they realised how good his range of passing and his shoot is i guess). He has been left our of the startin squad recently so would be good to see him start tonight. People have been sayin that he gets caught out of position too often to be a CB but he can't be worse then Gardener for that. Plus like to see Chimbonda stay at RB as he starts many of our attacks down that flank with Lennon.

    • I say put your best side out, theres a quarter final at stake, and should all go pear shaped in the cups, we will need the league for Europe, whilst we can rotate a little, its no time to rest the real key players, itst to important. I reckon we will progress in both cups.
