I think Jol could be a great coach. But to be a great Manager you need to be tactically astute, make the right decisions at the right time and get the best out of your players. You could say he's done that with Keane, but he goes missing in big games. He is doing that with Dawson and Lennon, but what about the others?
We'll see. I firmly believe that Mourinho is a fantastic manager and he seems to have a bit of a soft spot for both Spurs and MJ. I wonder if he was to ever express an interest in managing Spurs would be bring him in and keep Jol as coach? Probably not.
I really like Jol and love what he has done. But in big games we're still the team we were - bottlers. In all cup competitions since he's arrived Jol hasn't managed to beat a big team. Bayer Leverkusen you might say, but they are no where near as good as they once were.
Btw, agree about Jenas. We miss him when he isn't there, he plays for the team. I wish he'd take the game by the scruff of the neck more often.
