Berbatov will he stay or will he go

Right it is fair to say that Berbatov has been the signing of the season he is the most all round quality player to pull on a spurs shirt for as long as I can remember and his goal at the weekend just shows how good he is. My question is can we keep him or will the likes of chelsea and Man utd come in and snatch him and if so for what price and who would we replace him with.

    • If Robben does come (though I can't see Chelsea giving him up without demanding £20million or both Lennon + Berbatov!!)then I don't see why Jol can't make him cut it out. I remember when Zokora earlier on the season, how he used to dive at every opportunity and roll around like he'd been shot, but now seems to have minimised that.

Robben may respect Jol more being a fellow countryman.

    • do you think we can cure robben of his awful diving though. at least drogba wont be there to teach him tricks.

berbs to stay, Man Utd and Chelsea think they can tempt him with CL. haha yes he was playing cl football already with leverkusen so it'll come down to £100k+ salary as the tempter, nothing else.

Berbs, a legend in the making.
(if he stays of course ;) )

    • I agree with all the points being raised I think the key thing here is the board need to make a decision do they beleive and Want spurs to be one of the top 4 and a contender or are they happy for us to be a mid table team. If they make the right decision we will see Berbs at the lane next year and hopefully scoring from crosses put in by Robben and Bridge from the left and Lennon from the right

    • Agree with you on Murphy, Mido, Malbranque and Ghaly but feel Asou-Ekotto needs to be given a chance. The lad's only 22 and it's his first season in the premier league, he's also suffered a lenghtly injury. In some games he's looked pertty good and at least he's left-footed, unlike Lee who, at age 30 , isn't going to get any better.

As for Berb, I hope you're right about our board, but something tells me that if a bid for £30million+ was tabled they would accept it. I couldn't believe we sold Carrick when he never once came out publicly and expressed his desire to leave (or even to say "I hope to play for Man Utd one day") but apparently he did want to leave (but was happy at Spurs?!?)

If we sell him, we might as well accept that we're never going to win anything if all we do is sell our best players to our competitors.

    • another class performance by Berbatov and all the commentators could say was about him going to one of the big 4. Well firstly we must try to be come one of the big 4 and secondly now with the talk of Robben to spurs maybe Berbatov will go the other way I know which one a would rather have and he scored last night.

      • Yeah that pisses me right off when all the pundits and media keep saying is how good he will be at Man U / Chelsea.

When the premier league finally ends being a 2-horse race like in Scotland, what will the media say about it? I almost expect to read an article saying how selfish we are for not selling our best players to Man Utd "for the good of the game!!"

We MUST keep him for at least 1 more season. Even then, we should fight tooth and nail to keep him thereafter, even if it means increasing our paltry limit on player salaries by ten-fold.

    • Keep Berbatov as he is a world class player.
      Get Ledley fit again.
Bring in A top class left back
Work Lennon and Huddlestone hard during pre season to be players fulfilling of their high potential.
and last but not least.....Bring Paul Robinson back to his top form.

Work on defending set pieces and crosses as the goals we conceded against the lot at N5 and Boro were from crosses.

P.S. Am i the only one that rates Hossam Ghaly?
