  • I posted this message in response to another thread but I wanted to see what Spurs fans actually thought of the way things are going so far this season. My opinion is as follows.

I think you lot just need the rub of the green at the moment. Darren Bent is potentially a 20+ goals a season player. Haven't seen enough of Pavlyuchenko yet at this level but I think Spurs may have been forced to pay over the odds for him based on his International record over the past year or so. You seem to be suffering from the loss of Keane and Berbatov which is hardly a surprise, they have been one of the best, if not the best strike force over the past couple of seasons.

I also think that you are lacking that extra bit of quality in the midfield, someone who can run a game like Fabregas does for us. Is Modric going to fit the bill? Time will tell I suppose.

Relegation is completely out of the question but I also fear a top six finish is for you lot too. Given the form of Villa and City. Ramos needs to start proving himself, he is living off reputation at the moment and that is just not good enough.

    • Do Spurs deserve to be bottom? Well at the moment.... yes we do!!

Our poor results stand testament to the fact that we are not performing as a complete unit at the moment!!

Are we too good to go down? I would like to believe we are good enough to stay in the EPL, but too many clubs in the past have said that and suffered the dire consequences of relegation - just ask West Ham when a few seasons back when they were relegated on 44 points!

    • Every position is in a way deserved. You don't get 1st place without deserving it, nor 5th.
If a bottom team plays better than it should you get that 'oh, its a false position, they're playing above their ability'. No. They just at that point believe they can do it.
We just don't have that necessary belief - that's where we need Wendy to prove his worth. The rumours then in the paper about him leaving then doesn't help either. At this point we need stability and belief that we can outplay and outclass the opposition. We can, we will. Modric will shine. Zokora will get a hat trick. Bale will become so good he'll discover a Brazilian great-grandfather and change nationalities. Jenas will shed his skin of invisibility and suddenly glow in the light of his team mates. A golden glow... that will inspire the team higher, which in turn will make him shine more until he blinds the world with his dazzling brilliance. Huddlestone will become (?) a giant amongst men. He was born to lead. He will grow another 2 foot, and look down on the world of mortal men....The once and future King Of White Hart Lane...

Sorry, I watched Lord Of The Rings over the weekend and got carried away a bit....
