    What do you think?

    • What a result. First half - hmmmmm, second half - what a turn around.
I thought Modric, Palacios, Jenas (first half), Zokora all had pretty poor games.
Ekotto (apart from a couple of sloppy passes) looked totally in control as did Corluka (Young dropped out of the game - and Corluka looked pretty impressive with his link up play with Lennon), Lennon,Keane and Bent made their defence look pretty poor when we went forward. Bent closed down..

So now 35 points with Chelsea next. I had that as a draw before, but if we can turn in a CC final/Villa (second half) performance, then I think we can turn that into another 3 points.

Maybe the belief is coming back.

    • OK so as pointed out it should have been 4 points in feb - but on track so far.
The 3-1 is maybe a tad optimistic against Boro - no, stuff it, let's go for 3-0.

      • 3 ..... 4...what's in a goal?

Great result (although I did think we gave the ball away far too much - having said that, there were a couple of moves (3rd goal and a nearly goal in 2nd half) where we held the ball and looked superb).

Now Sunderland - I had that down as a 0-1 to us at the end of the season. Still going for it. 3 wins on the bounce? That will start to open a gap surely (and if not, what the heck as we seem odds on now to get at least 40 points).

      • Good on you John, that's the stuff !

I'm only half joking when I say I'm aiming for 7th, it's only 6 points away and I can't imagine the teams between us & there not dropping points... hopefully Sunday (coupled with the brilliant 'youth team' performance Thurs) will have inspired the squad to try & avoid disappointment like that again, so anything's possible.

      • GOOD EVENING FELLOW YIDS! I hope your'e right John and on the plus side if the European Champions couldn't put one past us in 2 hours then a 1, 2, or 3-0 shouldn't be out of the question for us tonight. I'll be cheering with you all tonight GOOD LUCK TO US ALL COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    • We're not even in the relegation spots now, so we're nearer staying up than you are CL ;)

    • Well ..we wont be going down either devilfish so hopefully that has answered all your questions mate.

    • i very much doubt that players and wenger would leave if we finished 5th. but that wont happen. were finish in cl spot no sweat. still 14 games to go , and its not like villa and even chelsea are 10 points in from of us , only 5 points.

    • Come back and ask us in May devilfish.......we aint interested in discussing that scenario just yet.
Have you thought about what you're going to do if you goons dont qualify for Europe? Will Wenger leave and take your best players with him.......will you have to sell to survive financially....will the Emirates be half empty each week?

    • my question is, if you did go down, would harry jump ship. he did when southampton went down, he left them for pompey, also would some players want to leave. bear in mind that the season has finished and the transfer window is open in august, and some of the big clubs might temp some players to join them, as CL prospects are there. also playing prem football as well.

    • They have managed 1 point per game up until now and I think they will be lucky to average more than 1 point per game til the end of the season.

Unfortunately they will be there or there abouts for the relegation positions.

I don't understand why they are under achieving, but they are.

      • Worringly, I think some of these look a tad optimistic - our records against Newcastle and Sunderland are pretty bad, and I'm not convinced now's going to the be time that changes.

This leaves us in a spot of bother.

Although, many people have said 40 points won't be enough this season, but I reckon it could be less needed - if they carry on getting shared around so much it's going to be difficult for anyone to climb the points ladder, for example when was the last time the bottom team had anywhere near this many points at this stage in the season?

I still say we'll be alright, just disappointed we're even having this discussion.

    • that 2 all against chelsea......not too sure about that but the rest seems a fair assessment ......

      good luck to you all

      quaresma...silly name anyway

      ironistic

    • John,

I think you may have mis-calculated on your number of points.

It should be 4 points in Feb.. draw against the Goons & win against Hull.. you have put only 3

But other then that I think you have made a fair assessment of our remaining fixtures.

      • I thought it a realistic'ish view - mid 40's would be a good finish given the start - and I think that once the team starts firing on all cylinders, we could hope to get a bit higher.
This year has go to be a 'thank G_D we didn't go down' year - next year (where have I heard that before?) should be a lets get that 4th place year...

I'll tick off the games as we go and adjust the points accordingly - should be amusing....
