    Squad balance

Was I the only one that looked at the team announcement and felt a sense of dread? I looked at the Chelsea team and could not really find a weakness. Then I looked again at ours and saw a few.

Two small guys up front (no matter that Defoe is hot at the mo) and thought Terry and Carvalhio are going to love this.

Lennon swapping from left to right and back again was ineffective. Jenas and Hudd were anonymous and AGAIN the fact that we did not have a left sided midfielder stood out like Fergies red nose.

Our back 4 problems we all know about so all in all we were up against it from the changing rooms onward. In fact I was pleasantly surprised by our efforts in the first 30 mins and thought we should have had a couple. But after that is was only going one way.

Yes it should have been a penalty and yes we should have had a free kick outside the box against Lennon which Webb saw and yes - what the fcuk was Cole doing jumping straight into Crouch and Webb seeing it and doing nothing!!

All of that said, our lack of depth and the unbalanced nature of the team for me meant we were always going to struggle.

Not sure which commentator it was but whoever it was that pointed out that the Chelsea fullbacks were dominating play whilst ours were too scared to go forward got it absolutely right.

P1ssed off about the sloppy goals and the result and the way in which once again Webb seemed to favour the "bigger" home side but Chelsea had the better team as much as I hate to admit it.

      • Hi lts, Whilst I don't particularly rate O'Hara you are right - he would/should have been in that side on Sunday if only to give it balance!

Arry has been quoted as saying that O'Hara will be back by Xmas and that he was part of the deal that Pompey insisted on when we sold them Boetang but bu66er that I say - get him back now!!

    • EVENING FELLOW YIDS!
Just read all the threads and some pretty interesting points have beenmade in all areas.
I think that SB commented that Dos Santos has played at left midfield but can't remember myself.I pesonally think he is a great player with more tricks in his locker than Derren Brown and would love to see him given a chace in this position as he is a good attacking player like Modric.
Also would have liked to see Crouch up front as this would have given us some ariel threat as long as we don't get into that long ball game and hope 1 out of 20 pays off.
Hope this back four situation hurrys up and sorts itself out and that HARRY gets Corluka and Hudd on sprint training as the pair of them look like cart horses at the mo.
That said,i'm enjoying being up the top at the moment and that we will be back to winning ways by saturday. COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
