    Robbie Keane

I did mention 2 months ago that Robbie would be on his way in January, Celtic was mentoined then, but i cannot see why we have to do a deal involving Boruc, firstly Gomez is our number 1 keeper now and quite rightly so with his present performances so why go for another keeper when both these guys need to play first team football its madness.
I know Cuddicini is out injured but whats the use of grounding keepers like Alnwick if they are not going to play, its fine to put him as reserve team goalkeeper so why not give him a chance, it seems that we have got good fringe players and very good youngsters but Spurs seem never to play them they are all out on loan and most of them are never heard again only when they are scoring for teams when they have left us.
Its total madness we have a million coaching staff far to many and dont ever give any of our youngsters a chance.
If you look at our present team hardly any have come through the academy at Spurs the likes of Huddlestone Lennon Bale have all come from elsewhere, we have had Danny Rose warming the bench the last few games if the likes of Keane aint cutting it lets play the lad once in a while, we have players like Bostock who have been signed quite some time, Ohara out on loan ever one says we have brilliant youngsters but they are not allowed to shine at Spurs on the big stage, come on Harry im not saying put them all into one game but we can afford to try some of them the Carling cup for one if you wanted out fair enough to concentrate on the champions league, when you wanted out of Euefa last year you were not scared to try them then.
If we have home grown talent in our ranks lets play them and stop spending silly money on players that have been signed and have not cut it, we all know who they are and you need to cut your coaching staff let them stick to there jobs in the media they are always appearing on the likes of sky and other tv programmes.

    • hey spursbabe, i agree that Harry doesnt give the youngsters much of a chance ala Francenal and Man U but we dont quite have the luxury of doing that yet as we've yet to establish ourselves as in the top 4 mix type. In hinsight yes we could of given them a chance in those games but its hard to criticise when you WANT and GET big WINS

Besides im not complaining too much, i almost have a nosebleed.

    • agreed harrys not giving youngsters enough of a go.
i dont want to risk too much with them but lets not forget these games,
      hull 5-1
      burnley 5-0
      wigan 9-1

i mean he could have thrown gio or bostock on for the 30mins when the game was won.

    • Sash, I agree with you mate. It's not my line of thought, it's Harry's and a lot of managers like him. I share your concerns about Bentley & Co.

At the end of the day I have to concede Harry and his staff know more than me, if not we are in the shit. But so far, he is doing well and getting results, at least most of the time.

Would love Dos Santos to get a run and also Bostock at some stage.

    • If we look along them lines we will never blood the youngsters and they will never get a chance, we give games to the likes of Bentley Hutton and co, just cannot see you line of thought these jokers have been paid for bing useless, these young boys sureley cannot do worse, and if we bring big time Charlies in on transfer and dont play them then theres no logic, just look at players we have bought in Bostock, Dos Santos and Tarabt, we paid good money for these young players but we play the keystone cops when these can be given a chance, lets be fair we are still way off of winning the EPL

    • Ermm............. we are already out of the Carling,

So the F.A cup is the only trophy on offer. Could experiment against Peterborough, but not the bigger teams.

I agree with your sentiment but it's a results driven business, most manager's are shit scared to blood the youngsters.
Harry daren't risk too much in the EPL, not until 4th place is secure (last game?) or unattainable.

      Shame.

      • Born 2 suffer great name for us Spurs fans, other teams do experiment like Arsenal and Utd i know your going to say well they are already in the Champions league but they are not worried if they play them, bear in mind Wenger has not won anything for god knows how long, does not stop him doing it in games, my point was not to play all of them in one game but blood them every so often, we have only just turned the corner as a team and to be honest i dont think any of them could have done any worse than Hutton, Bale, Bentley and Jenas in the games we have played against Utd in the Carling cup and Wolves last week.
The other strong point is what do we have the academy players for, none of them break through to the first team they are loaned and we sign clowns like the four mentioned, we are going nowhere with them sort of players. We need to develop young players and give them a chance when the time is right.
When you look at West Ham, look what they have achieved with raw talent, they cannot keep hold of the players they are not a fashionable club, we have signed many players from there and they have all gone on to make the grade.
Taking Bostock into context, when we signed him from the Palace he was on everyones shopping list he made his debut at 15 in the first team where is he now 3 years on, at Brentford on loan it just does not make any sense to me, Spurs could easily get rid of 6 so called first team players in January and we would not miss one of them.
Yes i most certainly agree with your logic on top 4 that would be heaven but signing players like Boruc is a step back, this is a prime case for bringing the youth through, why would he or Gomez want to sit on the bench they are both good enough to play
