Whis is the better passer of the long ball.....Hudd or Dawson? Hudd has always been noted for his passing but Dawson is certainly showing he has the ability to hit accurate long balls with a good trajectory.
Name players from Tottenham's past who were great passers, long or short, No prizes for naming Hoddle,
I am not sure who is better BUT I am sure that it is pretty much a requirement for midfielders to make the telling passes and not a requirement of CB's. Dawson looked good the other day doing this but that was against Selgado who had a nightmare. When Dawson hits those balls against a better team they often get cut out and set up an attack against us.
Bobby Moore never hit a pass longer than 20yards and was hailed as a legend. Dawson should take note.
As for some great passers - Ardiles springs to mind.

Sfer, certainly agree Dawson overdoes the long ball, but it is still a useful weapon to have. Most CB's just blast it anywhere when under the cosh which means the ball invariably comes straight back. At least with Dawson the ball is directed to another Spurs player and it is useful for the quick break.
Rather have it than not. I think John White was better than Ardiles with the defence splitter, though not as nippy.
I was going to say White wasn't lightning fast, but that's just sick.
