Me too, I've had a bit of a soft spot since 06-07 (I think) season when he played every game bar one & did such a great job with only Gardner for support.
I think it's because he comes across as not being affected byall the rubbish that goes with being a footballer, just really genuine, and he seems to really love playing. I've said before, but one of the images that's stayed with me as what being part of Spurs is or should be is when he got briefly knocked out when we played Chelsea a few years back at the lane (last time we beat them 2-1 there); he was lying on the floor, unable to move, but with a massive grin on his face. You know he gives it his all, he's a damn fine player, and it's never been on a plate for him (what with him always - obviously - being 2nd to Ledley, and then every time new CBs are brought in they've been given a run ahead of him. He's always earned his way back, but then someone new would come & it'd start again).
If he's on the plane - and I can't understand why he's not been called for the last couple of squads - he'll be the one most people think really deserve it. Good on him, and go forth and conquer!
(he's gonna have a shocker tomorrow after all this now isn't he?)
Despite the loss to Manure, after today there's a real possibility both Daws AND Leds could be going to the World Cup!!! Wouldn't that just be awesome :-)
If Daffy, Crouch and Lennon go too we could have 5 Spurs players in the squad!!
