Paul Miller Says Modric Is The Man!

Forget Bale, Modric was Tottenham's real hero, says Spurs legend Paul Miller

Earning their Spurs: Modric and Bale were the stand-out performers in Tottenham's win over Inter

Tottenham legend Paul Miller believes Luka Modric and not Gareth Bale was the real hero of Spurs' 3-1 Champions League victory over Inter Milan.

Bale stole the headlines after his speed destroyed the European Champions but it was Modric's display that particularly impressed Miller.

The former centre-half said: 'For me Modric was the man of the match. He was fantastic. His battle with Wesley Sneijder was fascinating. Modric gave Sneijder a lesson and not many have done that.

'Watching Modric play was a pleasure and I don't say that often. The way he linked up with Rafael van der Vaart was wonderful and his pass for the first goal was a delight.

'I've seen a few good European nights at White Hart Lane but this was right up there with the best.'

    cheers, Derek
