    Lightening struck TWICE ... 5-2 ,,,,, 5-2

in a strange way it could be a good thing for us.
if we play rubbish like we have been doing, maybe levy will finally hold his hands up to what a bad decision getting abv was.

if we do ok, levy will give avb a lot of time unfortunately.

so maybe more bad performances will make levy have to get rid of avb & get someone decent in like moyes.

no one wanted avb. avb didnt merit the job. levys mistake.
    now fix it.

ps. i can see beating spurs as all arsenal have to look foward to these days. both of us look poor this season.
we arent very good but looked in control with 11 v 11.
u should easily get 4th thou.

    • SB, your personal dislike of AVB completely clouds your vision.

Ade cost us that game, we started well, but after going down to 10 men in that fixture we never had a chance.

What did AVB do wrong? we've all been crying out for him to start 2 up front, he does it and because of a player error AVB still gets slammed! Had Ade not tried to snap Carzola, who knows what would have happened! It could have been a great game!

Hudds inability to beat the first man on the corners he's taken, is so embarrassing and proves to me, he's got to go, hopefully in Jan. But who could we have started in his place? Our squad is so weak and with VDV and Luka gone we seem to have no creativity if Dembele isn't available!

We have so many average (at best) players, IMO because Levy would not put his hand deep enough to get some real quality.

      Gutted, but not surprised.

      COYS!

      • ps. hudd has never been good enough for us, accept when we were a mid table team. the likes of jenas & hudd were ok for us then.

how hudd even gets england call ups is shocking!

like i said, he is a defensive liablity & is slow & unfit.
all he can do is the odd long pass & shot. even those are very rare!

i was agreeing with fowlers assement of him in the europa league game. he was saying he is a weak link & doesnt rate him.what does he actually bring to the table?!!

      • oh & joe, do u think talking up dawson as future captain & then trying to flog him is good management too?!

he clearly makes things up as he goes along.

i remember watching him manage chelsea when they were stuggling, he was picking kalou over drogba!

        says it all!

      • i would equally say your new managers can do no wrong becaue they need time stance is clouding your vision!

time doesnt mean they will get better!

"We have so many average (at best) players, IMO because Levy would not put his hand deep enough to get some real quality."

joe, there are teams with much worse players doing better than us. even with the injuries, avb has got a better team than most. but we have been average at best this season.

true, ade cost us the game & was an idiot.
        very selfish on his part.

"What did AVB do wrong? we've all been crying out for him to start 2 up front, he does it and because of a player error AVB still gets slammed"

so he makes the mistake of being too negative all season until today & u still dont think he done anything wrong?!

surely u think he has made a lot of mistakes by being too negative? surely than u also agree he has made a lot of mistakes already?

he goes more attacking with 10men away to arsenal, than he does at home with 11 men to wigan! says it all about avbs make it up as u go along philisophy.

joe, do u honestly dont think avb seems to just make things up as he goes along? its like he doesnt know what he is doing himself!

do u honestly think he deserves the spurs job?

taking off defoe when we need goals at home to wigan & then bowing to fans pressure by playing 2 up against arsenal shows he doesnt even have faith in his own philosophy.

do u honestly think avb is going to take us as far as this team can go?

the players we have now, do u think avb is getting the best out of them? no he isnt.

with what avb has too work with, he is doing a awful job.

im not ignoring the fact we havent replaced modric or that we have a lot of injuries. im judging him on the team he has had to work with.

    • The decision to get rid of Harry for AVB was a strange one for me, even stranger was the decision to overlook Moyes for the then vacant manager's position. I remember watching an interview on Sky Sport News where David Moyes was asked specifically in their studio on whether there has been any contact from Spurs before AVB was appointed and Moyes said that he hasn't had any approach from Spurs. He was also asked if he would be interested in becoming Spurs manager and he replied that any ambitious manager would love to manage any team with Modric, Bale, VDV and Lennon in the side.

Moyes would have be a safer bet than AVB, imo.

      • I think AVB did well today.

I think he was right to start Adebayor and Defoe together, and Adebayor had a stupid moment which he'll massively regret, particularly given his lack of first team opportunities.

I think AVB was right to wait until half time to make any changes, even though it put us in a precarious position, and I think both the changes he made and whatever he said to the team at half time were gutsy and the right things to do/say. I thought another option may have been to keep Walker on and push him up to midfield, perhaps on the wing to allow Bale/Lennon to take a roaming role high on the pitch, but I think 2 substitutions was a good psychological move.

I think he was right to replace Hudd with Carroll, and I think he did it at the right time.

Once Ade was sent off we had to go for all or nothing, our players style needed it and there was no way we'd be able to sit on a 1-0 lead, and the second half was possibly the first time this season I've seen us play with real urgency and belief. As I've said before, my concern over AVB's style is that it's boring and zaps some of the drive of the players, but that didn't happen today. If Bale had pulled back to Defoe instead of shooting we could quite easily have been 4-3 (i think - we were at a 2 goal deficit at that point) at 60 mins, and it would have been a different game.

Mistakes were made, but I don't think tactics or preparation can be blamed for any of them, and while embarrassing I'd rather play like that and lose 5-2 than be cagey and doubtful and lose 2-1.
