    Defense

When you look at each member of our defense in isolation we have a lot of strong players - in particular, Daws & Vert have had many good games in the second half of the season. However, most of the goals we've conceded have been down to defensive errors - today's is a perfect example of poor defending meaning we concede when really we seem to have the upper hand.

Where's the weak link? Is it BAE (as suggested in the other thread)? Personally I like him, but I like all the defenders individually, and today's definitely came from the left. Is it full backs playing too far forward, which would be tactical errors? Is it a case of good individuals, poor team understanding? In which case, is that a training/leadership (i.e. Dawson) issue?

I really don't know, but clearly there's an issue; sometime in the last couple of seasons we had an unfortunate run of a month or two when we were consistently conceding to spectacular goals, which you can't really complain about, but that's not what's happening now. Where's the weak link?

    • Hi, for me the weakness is trying to play the ball out of defense at times when it should be kicked out. The amount of times we have given the ball away from walker/ BAE attempting silly passes causes our trouble, Liverpool loss a classic example. Goodbye Gallas.
