    Credit where its due

SB, Your'e entitled to your opinion on AVB, but I recall one of your post's after about just six game's, that you hope he fail's so Levy can sack him, so I wonder if your personal dislike for him has anything to do with his ability. He has had to deal with a lot of key injurys, and quite a few new player's to bed into the team, and after a shaky start, has kept us up in the fight for CL place all season. Of course, we're all armchair manager's, and think we could pick a better team and be more tactically astute when results dont go our way, but as someone else has said in another post, if you look at many of the goals we have conceded that has cost us points this season, a lot of them have been down to individual errors, rather than the tactics being wrong. Sometime's the player's have to take some responsibilty, ( an example, during the Wigan game, Walker, starting in his right back possition could of passed the ball forward to I think it was Dembele, who was standing wide right, but instead decided to run across the pitch and ended up losing the ball on the left edge of their penalty area allowing Wigan to break and us short of defender's all because a player didnt keep the game simple, and retained his position ) so if we had conceded at that moment, would you say it's AVB's fault, that his tactics are all wrong?. Just a point on Moye's, IMO he has one of the easiest job's in the PL. There is no pressure on him to achieve anything season after season, which is odd considering Everton are a big club, but without the finances, apart from PL status, theres no expectations, whereas at a club like our's, I wonder if he could handle the extra pressure of being expected to achieve certain targets?. He dos'nt strike me as a manager who would suit Spur's style of play over the year's, but more a safety first type of manager who the majority of fans would not like if we lost our traditional style. Having said that, who know's?, he could be great, just as AVB could be given enough time and backing from the board and fan's alike.

    • John, I presume you meant to reply to me rather than SB. I don't ever recall saying I hoped AVB would fail so that he would get sacked. In fact, I do know that I have said I hope he proves me wrong and takes us into the promised land. As for Moyes, again, I don't recall ever having much of an opinion on him. Tactics? I appreciate you cannot account for individual mistakes and errors of judgement on the field. My argument is with who he plays and where. For example, Ade on his own up front does not work for me especially when you have two wide players and no real playmaker. You can't "like" somebody that you don't rate as being good at his job. I don't like AVB and I cannot see what Freund brings to us either. Even if AVB wins the PL and CL I will still not like him. I will appreciate his skills and for taking my football club to trophies but I won't like him. I will just not dislike him quite so much!
