    Sam's gone!

Unbelievable. What was the point in sacking him?? So we get another manager in, have lots of average performances, and sack him after six months, and so it goes on...we are never going to have any consistency at this rate. It's depressing.

    • Club owners and chairman today know nothing about football. Inconsistent reign's of managers = inconsistent results.

Results haven't gone as hoped latley but it's not like we were going to get relagated.

New owner, new chairman, nine new players in and 13 players out. Of course it's going to take time. How can a team gel with so much change?

I just hope Ashley isn't another Fat Freddy.

And I don't want Shearer as manager. He is a toon legend but not ready for such a HUGE job. We need someone with big club experience and trophy's in the cabinet and someone who doesn't care about ego's. A tactical, charismatic but at the same time, no nonsence coach.

      • mclaren for manager?he does have knowledge of the area.seriously who will want the job.they do not give managers a chance to get things moving

      • Sam was out of his depth at Newcastle, he thought he was a big manager and was found out.

      • I agree the bloke has not been given any real time to sort things out and it is a ridiculous decision.

However his tactics have left a lot to be desired and most of his signings have been disappointing to say the least.

As for Shearer. Why not give him a chance? He is as well if not better qualified than K. Keegan was when he took the job and let's face it the Keegan years were the most enjoyable by far in my lifetime as a fan.

      • Newcastle and Managers being sacked. The club have no idea how to treat Managers and will therefore never achieve success until they change this attitude. Success does not happen overnight. This is one cliub the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal etc have no need to be concerned about.

      • The fact is he tried to run the club the same way he was running Bolton, but you have remember that newcastle's turnover is the 8th or 10th highest in the world ( because of their fanbase), and just like the managers before him, he couldnt put them at 8th in the premier league at the least. Also how can you forget how quick Kevin Keegan brought the team successive promotion from the 2nd division to within a couple of weeks of winning the league, How much time did he need back then??. In this game you have bring results 1st and entertainment 2nd., he didnt do neighter, and altough am not a geordie, I know the newcastle fans deserve better...

      • I think that was the best way of sacking allrdyce, newcastle is a big club and it have a great fans!!in my opinion the next manager would be more useful tha sam

      • i agree great comment

      • well once again the so called Newcastle fan's get there way thats whats wrong with Newcastle they want success straight thats not what being loyal means you idiots for god sake give your managers a chance lets see what your legend Alan Shearer must get the managers the sack take the Job and I know he won't because he does not what to lose the fact he was a legend not anymore if he takes the job he doesn't matter who the manager his at Newcastle he won't last long with the idiots keep asking them to be sacked thats not loyalty thats suicide

      • The chairman has got it wrong this time, he should stay out of the crowd and concentrate on being a chairman, you can only blame "Big Sam" so much, its the ineptitude of the players we should be shouting about. The players are earning big money and not performing, why are they not leaving by mutual consent....
Also "shearer" is not ready, please we need some consistency

    • Nothing wrong with the managers that have been at newcastle. Should buy better quality players with some passion.

      • A lot of #$%$ has been spoken on this thread but there can be NO ARGUMENT that Allerdyce's departure is good for Newcastle and for football in general. He is the biggest self promoter (and whinger) of all the managers in the Priemier league and as a result has become completely overrated by the media. Bottom line is he was given a more than sufficient amount of cash for players and half a season and he NEVER LOOKED CLOSE to turning things around at Toon. Hopefully his unconditional failure will spell the end of the boring tactics he brings to football. I am delighted that I can now return to support Newcastle as my 'second team'. Really hope the idiot board get the appointment correct this time. The long suffering and thoroughly decent folk of Newcastle fully deserve this.

      • I so agree with you. Newcastle management, who ever is in charge, seem to think that they can get results on the cheap. They get what they deserve. The fans deserve better.

      • Maybe Newcastle should have sacked their physio instead! How can a team have so many injured players every season?

Newcastle have also wasted large sums of money on unsuitable players: Luque, Viano, Bramble, that terrible French defender whose name eludes me, & definitely Owen, who is a money-grabber who gets injured so often that he makes Darren Anderton look like a picture of health!

Houllier wouldn't be a bad choice as manager. I don't know why Newcastle fans want a Keegan-style manager. His cavalier approach cost Newcastle the league when they had a twelve-point lead over a Man United side whose entire team had cost less than the #15 million Keegan paid for Shearer....

      • Disgraceful. How are we going to find consistency if we don't keep a sodding manager!! If they go for Shearer then Ashley is a pillock. The guy has no experience, barely has the qualifications, big no no. Go for someone like Jol.

    • Very good point indeed.

I'm a Man U fan (season ticket holder for 20 years before you start thinking "glory hunter"), but my mate is a Geordie and he can't believe it to be honest.

You've got absolutely no hope of achieving what you want, like silverware, unless you have some sort of stability. Is it something like 6 managers since Keegan left??? That's a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best thing you could do now is to get Shearer in, let him die on his #$%$, sack him like you've done with all the other "messiahs", then move on and get in somebody decent who has "top level managerial pedigree".

      Thank you

    • Ugly troll deserves it. Ugly football from an ugly troll. not what the Barcodes are about...

      • Stevewalkers comments of ugly troll are like those of silly child. GROW UP. Hes either a disgruntled Newcastle or Boltan fan. Either way Sam knew his stuff he proved that with Bolton

Success doesnt come in an instant The only thing thats instant is coffe and most my mates have needed that after to stay awake after watching newcastles boring performances. Like past managers the fault isnt with Sam its the players as per normal. They should hang their heads in shame.

And if Newcastle want success then built it like every other successfull team and be patient while it happens any Arsenal or Man U fan will tell you success is built.

      • Your obviously an IDIOT and don't know much about football to make the comments you have made about Sam. 'Get a life you #$%$'.

      • Yup, i agree, what an idiot that steve walker is, i think that most people with common sense are going to miss sam, and think that he should have been given more time. Instead you have some idiots expecting miracles over night, regardless of how well the players themselves are doing.

    • Another round of applause for another rash sacking from the board, but I can't help but feel as if the applause should be aimed at some of those 'die-hard' fans. Pressure, pressure, pressure, new manager. the cycle goes on and another great name in English football moves on. So who now? I hope all those responsible are proud, but did it all go wrong when we said goodbye to Sir Bobby Robson...........??? Mr. Shepherd, haven't we got a lot to be thankful for......................

      • Just don't know what to say even I can see it coming. Altho I was not too happy we appointed Big Sam at the first place, I still think both him and the club need to have more time and consistency in order to rebuild the team.

Sacking him in the transfer window even make this decision looks even more ridculus or the board has decided we are not going to get anyone and let the team rotten for the rest of the season.

Now, we need to worry who will be next. Just hope that we can find some consistency at the end.

Altho Big Sam did not work out at Newcastle, still think he deserves some credit for putting up with day to day abuse from the fans (I must asmit that Included me). I really think the man has done his best and wish him well.

      • good riddance....he should never have left Bolton; some of us will never forgive him for what he did , how he did it , and the timing off it .........i wish him good health, and dont wish him any harm , i just hope he has no luck getting another job in football......

    • This club deserves all of the lack of success it has had in the past and will have in the future.

Where can i get a bet on Alan Shearer to be sacked/leave before the end of next season.?

    • Face it, the media has had a major role to play in this matter. Ok, so results & performances have not been good but we are in the middle of the table & unlikely to go down yet the farcical bleatings of the southern based press have bordered on the hysterical! Newcastle go to Wigan & lose 1-0. Press reaction? Crisis at Toon, Big Sam's job hangs by a thread. Blackburn go to Wigan 2 weeks earlier & lose 5-3. I didn't read anything about Mark Hughes getting the sack despite being below Newcastle at the time & having not won in several matches! Roy Keane appears to be another manager who is fire proof too as does Gareth Southgate, both managing clubs where expectation is high but league positions are low. NUFC are an easy target in view of our comical history created mainly by reactionary chairmen. The press pick their target & stick to it, whatever. Saturdays draw at Stoke was a major diaster according to some press men yet Blackburns exit at home to even lower opposition goes unchecked it seems & the rest of the Premier league teams that went out. We drew!! Ask any of the previous England manager about witch hunts. In fact, ask Sam. He's probably got some time spare now! Who next? For God sakes not Redknapp or Jol.

    • You can't blame big sam for the way the team plays cut there wage by half and see how they play i bet that there is a massive improvement!

      • It's much deeper - there's something inherently wrong, bad karma or something - as it's always the same.

Newcastle is destined to win nothing and it will never change.

1951 was a blip, never to be repeated

It's so obvious to all the outsiders looking in, magpies and thieves anyway.

      • the constant turnover of managers at newcastle has shown one thing which most people are missing...an inability by the upper management (chairman, owners etc) to get things right when appointing managers in the first place...maybe it is in this area that newcastle now needs to look at their performance instead of the constant scapegoat blame being placed on managers who are given no time and players who are just not up to the standards demanded by the newcastle fans.

    • No Way long enough to prove himself, poor players, lack of investment, only picking up the peices after
      souness debarkle....

so they appoint Shearer next, and he has bad run, still a 'folk hero' in 5 years time.........

      • its a bout time the players stop filling up their fast expensive cars and start filling the beautiful game with their sweat.
they are lazy and over paid.
again the manager gets the blame for #$%$ players .
sack some players or sell them off.
why not sack some of the board.
freddie shephard you need to stop pretending you no your job and stand down

    • you Geordies make me laff, you think you have a big club and the right to win everythink, well who are you?,just a run down club in the north east who have had 18 managers in the last 25 years and still won nothing.when will your directors learn that they need to be paitent and let the manager do his job.a club like you will never buy sucess as you havent enough money. your fans are supposed to be loyal phew i dont call shouting for the managers head after 20 odd games loyal, im fed up of listening to yor fans moan lets hope you go down where a small club like you should be
