    We got away with it...

Not playing for a draw??? Yeah right... can't believe they hit the woodwork twice and all we kept doing was giving the ball away! Telling you, we've been bloody lucky with this one!

Playing the game, not the occasion they say. Well we definitely didn't play the game this time around. Anyway, we're through, that's what counts... let's just hope we get ourselves back together plain & proper for the Chelsea game...

    Come on the Arsenal!!!

    • Yep it was a very cagey, nervous performance very much like Villarreal away last season. It proves that when Arsenal only need a draw it seems to produce a very poor performance as the players are used to playing an attacking game. Still we're through and that's all that matters. Lille in the next round please!

    • we were lucky yes but who cares we're are through anyway. Let's concentrate on the teams that we'll meet. It could be Barca, Real again Inter Milan, Celtic, PSV, Lille, Roma. We can do it again with or without the King (Henry)

    • He apparently got a hamstring injury in yesterday's game, hasn't been ruled out yet so far though.

He's maybe not used to run too slow :)

    • Is Djourou injured?

    • Happy to go through.
That being said I only saw the last 15 minutes but errr if the whole match has been like this I'd have been gutted to buy tickets for it..
I'm sure they could have had a cuppa tea whilst passing the ball along, honestly.

      • Make no mistake, it wasn't a good performance tonight - the defence looked really wobbly, the midfield was weak and Adebayor alone up front was ineffective.

It angered me to hear AW say before the game that we were going for the win - rubbish! We played 4-5-1 and in a particularly negative way.

AW must get the message that defensive intentions can't be the Arsenal way, with the squad we've got and the attacking mentality that's been drummed into them. If we play that way against Chelski on Sunday we'll lose - simple as that.

I just hope Gallas is available on Sunday, having learned that Toure is suspended. The thought of Senderos and Djourou playing along side each other fills me with dread!
