    Arsenal's youth policy just ain't working !

Agree with everything you are saying But it looks to me and many other long term fans that the managers hands are tied
rumor has it he only has £13,million for the summer transfer budget and you will not get very much for that when you consider the a team about to be relegated put a fee of £9, million on one of there young defenders (wheater) and to be honest he would not be an improvement on what we have got
I think the Russian and the yank have to join together and get rid of Hill wood ect and inject a decent transfer budget to get a proper blend of youth and experience
I also feel the ageist policy has cost the club big time

    • Gallas, Toure, Clichy, Sagna, Fab, Nasri, Ade, Rosicky, Eduardo, Sylvester, Eboue, Arshavin....are all very experienced. Song, Denilson, Diaby, Bendtner...have spent years playing with experienced guys. These guys did not just come in they have been squad members for a long while and got thier opportunities and they did well. Denilson may lack the physical strength for now but he has been one of the best central midfielders in the EPL this year. We saw the massive strides Song made after a not very confident start possibly because he was doubted so much. Theo is one of those young players with such a special effect you have to play. Rooney and co had the same benefit. In my opinion, Almunia had a good season

I think many dwell too much on the perceived inexperience of our side. While we may not be as old as Chelsea I believe certain key experienced players let us down this season rather than the younger ones. For whatever reason Ade affected our play negatively in many occassions. Gallas and Toure mad costly errors. Injuries for lengthy periods did not help and that's where luck comes in. Just go back to Drogba's injury and see how it affected Chelsea despite the depth of their squad. Man U were lucky on that front. Ronaldo is not more experienced than most of our players but he is the key for Man U. So I believe it is more about attitude, balance, ability and class than 'experience'. We just don't have a match winner currently and I hope Arshavin fulfills that role
