    what do you think

we might just need 1 good player after all as long as we keep the existing squad together.

Can Song play at CB ? yes he can.
can Song play at CDM ? yes he can.
If we buy for example Hangeland, then our CB will read: Hangeland-gallas-toure-djourou

If we buy Barry then our CDM will read: Barry- Song-Denilson with Song or Barry playing emergency CB.
This approach will allow the players to grow even better.
    What do you think ?

    • Personally, i don't think Song,Djourou or Hangeland are good enough a centre half.Don't get me wrong, they are ok players, just not good enough for the top four in the premiership.

Hangeland looks good becasue he plays for a team that is very compact and as such he's very rarely exposed one-on-one.The way we play he will be left one-on-one a lot....can he step up? i'm not totally convinced myself.

Song has been our most improved player this season, but he's not top top quality. He's ok to play in the C CUP,FA CUP and some premiership games but when we come to the business end of the season against the really big teams can he cut it?

    • I think it depends on whether we keep Gallas. There doesn't seem to be any noises coming out of the club about him leaving, which is good in my opinion as he and Toure were terrific for the majority of the season.

If he stays, and Song, Senderos and Djourou are the cover available then we might get away with just buying a midfielder. But I would prefer us to invest in a tall strong CB aswell (like Hangeland), because we still lack presence in the air when defending high balls and set pieces. Wenger said as much when for a short while he wouldn't play Toure and Gallas together, although that probably more to do with a personal quarrel between the two. Still, they are both 6'0" and really not tall enough to play together in the long run.

My big wish is that we get Barry to partner Cesc, his strength and experience would drive us forward and do wonders for the young players' confidence. Plus he is incredibly versatile and can be moved forward alongside Cesc with Song behind them if we play 3 in the middle, or cover at left-back, or play wide on the left. A terrific signing any way you look at it, and with just a year on his contract he could be had for under £10m.
