    Nothing changed

Yes, for the Wenger fans : We did have a lot of the ball. Woopie do.

For the realists: We lost again and never really bothered the Man U defense. Wenger had an other big game melt down IMO by playing Nasri on the wing. He had been our best player in the middle this season. Wenger just can't solve Man U.

We will be fighting for 3&4th.

    I hope Fabianski was injured.

    • "and when is the last time Harry has won anything" - not as long ago as Whinger.

    • For me Kos was at the root of their goal. Other then that he played an ok game. Was surprised to see Clichy give Nani the inside on the goal. But the goal was a bit of a fluke. I hope Gibbs will get and stay healthy we need him.

Frustrating thing is I don't remember us having any clear chances. You?

    • Yes you had a lot of the ball...2nd half, when we were happy to let you have it.

1st half was a masterclass by United. It was virtually one way traffic, one of the more comfortable games. Anderson should have made it two right before half time, but the important thing was that we'd scored, we'd continue making chances 2nd half, and knew you would struggle against a superior defence.

Its been like this in the last few times we've met now, which just shows what a poor tactician Whinger is, and how over rated your football is.

Rafael had Nasri in his pocket, Clichy will have nightmares about Nani running rings around him, Koscienly, the 8 stone weakling will be thankful there was two of them struggling to cope with Rooney all night, no wonder he begged Wazza for his shirt off him after the game!

Your three subs had no impact on the game, there was no fight, no determination, United, as usual, showed they wanted it more, it was JUST as Evra said, Men against boys, from Francenal training centre.

Top of the league with a game in hand, and you still wont hear us crow like you did all week about your temporary position on top.

I always enjoy seeing you humbled, no team needs it more.

      • Thank you for your appraisal of the game, it's always amusing when you attempt to flex your footballing intellect.

"1st half was a masterclass by United. It was virtually one way traffic"

After a bright start, Man Utd spent the rest of the first half struggling to string two passes together and resorted to pumping long balls instead. More like a traffic jam.

"Rafael had Nasri in his pocket" - They were on opposite flanks so how did he manage that?

"Clichy will have nightmares about Nani running rings around him"

Nani had a poor game and Clichy coped with him well, stopping him in his tracks many times. The only times Nani got the better out of him were when Clichy handed an easy opportunity to him, such as when he allowed him too much space to cut inside for Park's goal. But Clichy won more of their duels than Nani did, and that despite being left to deal with him all on his own.

"Koscienly, the 8 stone weakling will be thankful there was two of them struggling to cope with Rooney"

Rooney could not get the better of Koscielny all game, who had the pace and awareness to deal with him throughout. Rooney had to constantly drop very deep and away from Koscielny to get any time on the ball, and as the game went on he just got better in coping with the frustrated Wazza.

      • "Koscienly, the 8 stone weakling will be thankful there was two of them struggling to cope with Rooney all night"

Meh. Rooney was never near our centre backs, since he was effectively playing as a sweeper. Picking up balls deep, playing it out wide early, then sprinting into the box.

But it worked for you, again. So well done. It made for a thoroughly unenjoyable game though from the neutral's point-of-view though.

Chris, you'll enjoy today's "Early Doors", as they brand Koscielny as the French Michael Turner. Firstly, Turner is actually pretty good! Secondly, Koscielny will one day be world-class. I still think Djourou should be ahead of him right now, but I'm talking about the future.

RE Nani/Clichy: IMO, Clichy actually won the battles. Clichy played him well tactically, but he just kept fucking up and giving the ball away. So that's a moral victory for Nani, he just got it given to him.

      • Chris big win for you guys. Frustrating thing is that viewed in components Man U doesn't appear better then Arsenal. This is one of your weaker teams over the last several years IMO.

But what you have and we lack is the intangible, you find a way to win, you have belief and you play better in big games where we don't. We still can not win the big game (unless one counts beating a 10 men City).

This season could well remain a close one but you must be counted as favorites. If you don't lose to Chelsea you have made your move at the right time.

We on the other hand face the daunting task of having to beat both Man U and Chlesea at home if we want to stay in the race with a modicum of control over our own destiny.

    • @saad_gangat...''blame calamity clichy for the goal".....no...not exactly... I would blame... koscielny for missing a header he should have won before nani got the ball. Clichy did wel to close him down and he deflected nanis cross and the defenders behind really should have done better to interfere with parks header.... And mayb schesny should have been a yard back, nearer his goalline. That said, l can only credit park with his perfect header...anybody would be proud of scoring in that style.again dont blame clichy for mistakes that are not his(he has his big share)...arshavin exposed clichy so much as usual. This goal requered dj in cd/dm or vermaelen at cd. And this game particulary questions arshavin'commitment...indeed he cant run. Anyway the game proved what l have been telling you...(our defence will not help us*100) .vermealen is not enuff...squlci and his clearance is a disaster...he gifted nani a goal...and l have seen that another day. And very poor defensive support from midfld...whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttt! U thot park won it for united, nothing can be far from the truth "'rio and vidic" won it for united. U thot arhavin, chamack and nasri lost...never..never..kos and squllic gave united a gift

    • You can be a "Wenger fan" and a "realist", you know. It does annoy me how people seem to think everyone's in one of two camps. Well, we're not. Everyone has their own opinion.

"Wenger had an other big game melt down IMO by playing Nasri on the wing. He had been our best player in the middle this season."

I don't know what you mean here... Our commentary in the UK said something similar, that Nasri has been playing in Fabregas's central role. This isn't true - Nasri has been playing on the right wing for us almost all season.

Nasri's WORST games for us have been when he's played in Fabregas's position, but he hasn't played that role all season as far as I can remember.

      "I hope Fabianski was injured."

I'm pretty sure he was. Szczesny knew the day before that he was playing (based on his Twitter) and Wenger doesn't tell his players if they're playing a whole day beforehand.

      • Well said will. I din't mean to imply one couldn't be both.

To me Nasri has been allowed to roam a lot more in the absence of Cesc then he did last night, somehow he clearly didn't look comfortable to me, and that had nothing to do with Man U. Maybe he played injured? He is not choker in my book so I don't think it was the occasion.

For us dreamers (yes I'm one of them) we need Chelsea to beat Man U and us to win our next 3 to stay comfortably in the race.

RvP has been out a long time and it takes time to gel but in his last two games I don't think he and Chamack paired up that well. In hind sight I would have liked for Theo to get more then 13 minutes of regulation time. But TBH it wouldn't have made much difference the way Man U reads our game.

      • Oh, one thing I do agree with though is that "nothing's changed".

If we'd have won today, or even nicked a point, it would have been a fantastic result.

We played poorly though and didn't deserve anything. I thought United were quite poor too and only just deserving of the 3 points.

In the first half they did a very good job of stopping us from playing. They were launching balls from defence down the wings and trying to put crosses in from the byline. The ball spent more time in the air than on the ground and we didn't get any rhythm.

Despite being quite low on points, we're actually in a remarkably good situation. United go to Chelsea next, hopefully they will drop points there. Then we're basically at the half-way stage of the season, having played AWAY to United, Chelsea, City and Liverpool.

If we improve our home form, we'll be up there. Somehow.

    • I'm surprised no one is blaming Calamity Clichy as well for the goal? he backed off until Nani could literally walk the ball in!!! and then deflections like that only come with calamity Clichy ofcourse.

Nasri being played on the right? wtf

Either play him central behind the striker or on the left against Rafael but no, the manager had amazing tactics. The only good that came out from this was that I actually don't think Koscielny is that crap anymore because of him marking Rooney out of the game completely. Wilshere had a decent game and we have missed a little spitfire like him in midfield. The way Wilshere rugby tackled Evra to the ground and when Fletcher collided with him and flew 3 feet back was just priceless. All in all a bit of a boring game, with both sides barely attacking or having any cutting edge. The team with the better tactics won on the day, as again the 4-5-1 is something Wenger just can't counter!!!

    • Is there a way we can sign a new coach!!!

    • The game hadn't even finished and you were already giving it the "told you so"?

      You're right, nothing's changed.

    • It was a FLUKE header ...

And the penalty decision was a joke.

We will beat comfortably at the Emirates.

      Shut the fuck up!!!
