The Draws and Losses this season

I have looked at the draws and losses this season and the trend is the centre back pairing of Koscielny and Squillacci. (Squillacci being the weakest link).

Lost 5 - Centrebacks: Koscielny and Squillacci in all these games.

Drawn 5 - Centrebacks - Koscielny and Squillacci, when in winning positions we then go and draw game in the last 10 mins of the game : Wigan, Sunderland and the recent Newcastle game. (I strongly feel had Djourou been in defence they would not have turned us over like that). The Liverpool game at the start was Vermalen and Koscielny but then we had Almunia in goal. We were grateful for Pepe Reina assistance. The 5th draw was the Man City game where their stragey was they came for a nil - nil. Djourou and Koscielny were the centre backs.

So if Djourou has injured his knee and is out for sometime, the pairing of Koscielny and Squillacci does not bode well for getting maximum points from games.

How long is Squillacci's contract? This guy is in his 30's with few international caps, why did Wenger think he was of the calibar of Sol Campbell or William Gallas who at their peak were always in their country's team. And he actually paid money for him. What a waste!

Why do people just make things up? I know it suits your "argument", but Wenger never said Squillaci was of the calibre of Campbell or Gallas.

Though there haven't been too many, these two are two of Wenger's worst signings and I have no qualms saying it.

    • It all doesn't matter. As long as we will have Wenger we will go nowhere fast.

His teams are famous for melting when it's time to deliver.

Is anyone suprised we might be stuck with Kos and Squil?????

Many of us warned that not replacing Vermaelen would be taking a big risk and Wenger is not really the maser of manageing risk. How often hasn't he conceded that he played an injured player too soon?? and the player got re-injured??

How often does he gamble on an incomplete sqaud? This winter was not unlike others. To many it was obvious that we can not go through a season with 3 central defenders yet Wenger gambles.

If Djourou is out for a while there is no one to blame for the resulting defensive problems but Wenger.

It is my view his tactical inabilities cost us crucial points against Newcastle. Wenger is not quick on his feet and is often poor at adjusting tactics during a game.

Nothing will change as long as this clown is in charge. He should be moved over to manage the youth team that's his only strength IMO, developing young players. Don't ask him to build a squad capable of winning. But I guess the last 5 years have proven that.
