The Draws and Losses this season

    Mar
The worst part is that we all knew the cost of not getting in solid back ups for certain key areas. Mr Wenker sat on his thumbs as expected and this is coming back to haunt us. The sooner he moves on the better as we will win nothing with him at the helm.

    • I agree and have been saying it for years, the man has lost it and the sooner he leaves the better. However even a broken clock is right twice a day so sooner or later even Wenger might win something again.

For me if we win a meaningfull trophy with Wemger this year or next. ie the PL or CL, this would not prove Wenger right IMO. After the way he destroyed this team over the last 5 years there is no being right for him.

His neglect has cost us over the last 5 years and that can not be proven right by winning next year IMO. How long will SAF stay after not winning a major trophy over the next 5 years? How long would Pep remain at the helm of Barca if he didn't win, would he be aloud 5 years of not a single trophy???

Wenger and us as fans might get lucky this year or next year, but this year it looks to me not to be on our own strength but on the transistion of Chelsea and the of year Man U are having, despite comfortably being in 1st.

There used to be a time we could win the league on our own merrit.

Completely different scenarios, given our move to a new stadium. If you want to rephrase the question in terms of Ajax, you'll get a completely different answer.

You have to view everything in context, and it's not about being proven "right" or "wrong". It's not some ideological battle between Wenger and fans such as yourself, Mar, it's simply a practical issue of us winning again.

If, as you proposed, we won the Premier League this season or next under Wenger, any fan who spared a moment to he a little bit annoyed that Wenger won with the "wrong" strategy isn't really a fan at all.
