Any comment on the actual personnel that might arrive in Jan or next summer is pure guess work. As AW has said if the right quality comes along at the right price then he would buy, problem is the quality we need is not available at our price so any wish list of Goetze, Hazard etc is dreamland I'm afraid.
We definately need a stronger No 2 GK and a utility defender who can play central or wide. we have a lot in the middle so it depends who goes as to who might arrive. And we all know we need a quality striker to back up RVP.
As to who goes, well that's easier. Flapianski, Almunia, Squillacci, Yossi's loan will probably end in him leaving, Arshavin, Chamakh, Rosicky, and to me Park is just not good enough. And waiting in the wings on loan are Bendtner, Denilson, who we dont want to see again, and Vela who will probably stay in Spain.
I expect maybe 5 out, one or two bigger buys in, and two or three from AW's bargain basement of unsung talent. We will be in with a shout for fourth this year so that will obviously help.
Teams like Utd and Chelsea will be going through a rebuild and I guess a lot of the clubs will be looking a for a payday come next summer. I think this Jan would be a great chance to nip in and pick up two top draw players at a realistic price or at least at the price Arsenal can afford. I think if Arsen spent big it would also reassure RVP and send out the right message to all those pretenders who think they can play football. Three major names is what we need 1 in each third of the park plus a quality No 2 GK.
I think you are bang on the money with the names that need to go, they just don't cut the mustard and the work ethic is pretty poor too!

I possibly think more of a question should be who shouldn't be there next season.
Post the performance against the Greeks in mid-week a number held there hands-up. Both Flappyhandski and Mannone aren't up to it. We already know where Almunia is.
Squillaci was appauling again and his combination with Djourou was scary at best. Djourou still fails to convince 100%.
Between the 'excess' keepers and defenders we should be able to raise say £11mm (?).
Then there is the 'absentees' - Bedtner, Dennilson & Vela. All should be sold - another £16-£18mm (?)
Dear old Andre - he just looks 'under the weather' and out of sorts and unlikely to get better soon. I'm a fan but, he just doesn't seem to be enjoying himself - £7.5mm (?)
Chamahk - he just doesn't seem to fit either and again is lacking in confidence - £7.5mm (?)
The only other one I'd point to would be Rosicky (as a maybe). He isn't the player he was when we first bought him. 'IF' a good offer came along I'd sell - £2.5mm + (?)
My bet is that there is about £45mm worth of chaff there all in all.
Clearly in terms of replacements we'd need a decent reserve Goalkeeper - £5mm (?)
I'm still a big fan of Vertonghen and really thing with his ability to play right back as well as centre-back (as well as central midfield a la Song) he'd be a real quality addition to our back four - £15mm (?)
The only other area I think needs attention would be Center forward. RVP needs some quality support. Rumours continue to abound about TH as a short-term solution but, for me Podolski would be the right man - £15mm (?). This I think should be AW's priority in the transfer window.
Everything else to me would be cake icing as much as I'd love to see the likes of Hazard, Goetze, Gourcuff, M'Villa or Benzema in an Arsenal shirt.
You never know though by my estimations even after my little spree, if we made the sales, we'd still be left with something like £60-£65mm (maybe a little more with a good operating profit) burning a whole in Arsene's pocket! Maybe there is room for some cake or maybe even two bits after all!
I know Arsene's big on 'muesli' but, I do like icing!
