    • To me that's nearly an naive Arsenal fan's type of view. Confusing possession with dominating. That's like saying Barca outplayed them over 2 games. Football is not that simple. Both Barca and Bayern lacked where it mattered, tactics, experience and will-power.

      • I agree completely with Marintii and Gunner-Getcha.

I'm a massive Arsenal supporter (I don't like the word 'fan'... reminds me of sheep to the slaughter), but I think it is naive to think that Chelsea merely 'parked the bus'.

If that was all it took, why have all the teams who tried to pack the defence against Barca not won? Over two legs!

Also, where has the mentality that attacking prowess is more impressive than defensive prowess come from? It is so utterly utterly stupid! And it seems to be particularly rife only amongst football fans. That's like saying the boxer who dances around the ring the most is the better one... or the racing driver who performs the flashiest overtakes deserves to win the race... or the snooker player who performs the most trickshots is the superior etc.

I love attractive football, really! That's one of the biggest reasons I love Arsenal... but to assume that it is the only or 'right' way = naive.

Congratulations Chelsea and I think AFC as a whole could learn a thing or two from you this season - about resilience, character, coming back from adversity and especially, how to win.

Accuse me of not being a 'fan' if you want... doesn't really affect the validity or otherwise of my point.

    • You obviously prefer the new Arsenal to the old Arsenal that used to win trophies. The old Arsenal used to generate the song "one nil to the Ars-en-al". Maybe people like you should change it to "won nothing to the Ars-en-al".

Your comments about Chelsea are far too simplistic. Two years ago we won the league with a record number of goals. You probably thought that was defensive and boring too. To say as you did that all Chelsea did in every CL match was park the bus either shows you didn't watch it or you didn't understand it or you are lying. Whichever it was, and I don't really care, you think what you like. I'm not going to bother with this conversation any more.

Chelsea - Champions of Europe. Feels good.

    • I find your comments suggesting I watch basketball very tiresome and childish - if my team had spent what yours had spent I would want some kind of style and entertainment as well as trophies - still you cant have everything -and obviously you are very happy with it I see your team is still playing under the influence of Mourinho that boring style of play god forbid teams in the PL decide its a good way to win how boring is that going to be for fans - Chelsea fans like yourself excepted of course..

    • Anyone who thinks Chelsea 'played for penalties' or didn't 'try to win' has a very shallow grasp of the game.

A good tactical battle where two different styles come up against each other can be a source of entertainment in itself. In this case, Di Matteo worked with what was at his disposal and Chelsea won the trophy after beating some of the toughest teams in the world over two legs. I doubt you'll find a Chelsea fan who cares if it didn't meet the 5-goal wishes of the less tactically-aware armchair fans. Abramovich may take a different view though which will be interesting to see.

Congrats to Chelsea, who rode their luck but which CL winners haven't? (Barce excepted!)

    • I suggest you try watching basketball if what floats your boat is lots of scoring and attacking routinely getting the better of defending. Or go to the local park and watch an under nines match. They are surprisingly entertaining, in a way you might like.

    • The game is about trying to WIN it,simple as that .

    • Only one team wanted to win, what was the corner count again?

    • I look at Chelsea in the CL over the last eight years and think they deserved a CL trophy. Last night yes Bayern took the risks and had miles more chances. At the end of the day few look back and think who deserved to win a trophy, it's about who won it.

    • If the best team should win one should just play the final between madrid and barcelona. Sports gives the underdog a chance to triumph. As much as I love arsenal, I have admit yesterday the spirit and never say die attitude of the chelsea players and their refusal to give up in the face of superior opponents won them the game. Congratulations to Chelsea, no one gave them a chance but they never stopped believing.

    • Did you say that in 2005 slayer, when Arsenal were totally outplayed in the FA Cup final over 120 minutes by United, only to win it on penalties?

The press hailed Arsenal as the worst team to ever win the FA Cup .... but I guess you weren't supporting them then.

      • When AFC won the FA cup in 2005 having been outplayed for 120 minutes we won on penalties - that was one game - not every round - Chelsea have been incredibly lucky and have bored the pants off everyone in every round parking the No. 14 bus in front of goal and the media praise them for stealing the cup...get your head in gear .....worst team ever CHELSEA by far..
