Article: The Good, The Bad & The Reality

And how would he explain buys such as Squil, Chamakh if you can count him, Santos, Park, Gervinho etc etc. Did they really improve the squad???????? Wenger just talks crap all the time, he never says what he really thinks or means and to me that equates to intentional misleading or dishonesty.

    • Interesting selection Mar.

I think we all know that Santos, Mertesacker and Arteta were emergency buys when Nasri & Cesc went.

Gervinho was an early transfer signing, and he's not that great. Certainly not £10m great.

Squilacci was only £3m, but he came in because we let Gallas and Silvestre go. Gallas for all his shenanigans, is still better than Squilacci.

Chamakh was a freebie, but even that's proving to be costly based on his £50k p/w salary.

      • He can not hide behind panic buys as far as I am concerned. We all knew Cesc was leaving and he just wasn't ready to sign players who improved the squad as far as I'm concerned.

He mismanages the buy and selling of players like no other manager of a big club. He loses his best players, let's there contract's run down, waits to sign the bill of sale until it is too late to buy a replacement etc etc etc.

I doubt he will impress me this coming window. Henry might be valuable on the training ground but he is not going to save us.

We need a top quality proven striker and midfield player and left back.

      • Interesting musings John.

        heh

'I think we all know that Santos, Mertesacker and Arteta were emergency buys when Nasri & Cesc went.'

Well...no we don't actually. Arteta granted, but two defenders 'emergency' buys to replace two attacking midfielders?

        PURLEEEEEASE!!!

'Gervinho was an early transfer signing, and he's not that great. Certainly not £10m great.'

Gervinho had the highest assist rate in the French league, that is why he was brought. The lad has barely bedded into the side at this moment in time. Ljunberg took an age to settle. He looked absolute pants for a long while.

'Squilacci was only £3m, but he came in because we let Gallas and Silvestre go. Gallas for all his shenanigans, is still better than Squilacci.'

Squillaci was bought as cover for a much depleted defence. Silvestre was worse! Gallas, it could be argued, was driven out by the likes of you Arsenal fans who were on his back, slating him at every juncture. Had you forgotten that???? He was a far far better option than Squillaci. CBs were in huge demand too at the time. Another instance of 'GREAT SUPPORT!'.

'Chamakh was a freebie, but even that's proving to be costly based on his £50k p/w salary.'

Chamakh started wonderfully and has fallen away for whatever reason. He was pictured smoking at one point. I think you'll find his apparent fall from grace is down to attitude rather than lack of ability.

Another large does of FAB FACTS.

        Ignore! Ignore!!!
