Manchester United starting to look like a team in decline

Manchester United might have won their 13th Premier League title last season, but post the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson as manager of the side, the Red Devils seem to be heading towards a decline.

With no disrespect meant towards David Moyes or his ability, the club are already reeling under the loss of the leadership of SAF. The legendary Scot’s absence means United are not being taken seriously as a force to reckon with in the transfer market anymore, as is evident from their lack of signings thus far. While United’s competitors Chelsea and Manchester City are busy strengthening their squads, the Red Devils are yet to make a high profile signing this summer.

Moreover, the side has other problems in the form of the imminent departure of Wayne Rooney in the near future. The loss of Rooney would weaken United’s attack force considerably. Even Robin van Persie is beginning to look injury-prone and it might not be long before we might see the club reeling under offensive woes.

Hence, it might not come as a surprise if the club finish even below their worst 3rd place finish in the Premier League, this season, as Manchester United are essentially starting to look like a team in decline.

    • " United are not being taken seriously as a force to reckon with in the transfer market anymore, as is evident from their lack of signings thus far." - so presumably Arsenal is not taken seriously either.

"Even Robin van Persie is beginning to look injury-prone" - based on what? Raymond Verheijen's ill-judged comments?

You really are a clown, Slayer.

    • I'm saving this one...before you delete it...:)

    • Wishful thinking, but they could afford to lose Rooney and make no signings and theyd still challenge for the title. City have spent a lot of money but there have been a lot of changes so no guarantee. Chelsea are improving and are my favourites for the title now with Mourinho at the helm.

However we cant hold a candle to any of those, and should be worried sick about spurs creeping up on us.

I also read that man utd could field this under-23 team:
      David De Gea - 22
      Rafael Da Silva - 23
      Chris Smalling - 23
      Phil Jones - 21
      Fabio Da Silva - 23
      Tom Cleverley - 23
      Nick Powell - 19
      Wilfried Zaha - 20
      Adnan Januzaj - 18
      Jesse Lingard - 20
      Danny Welbeck - 22

      Bench:
      Ben Amos - 23
      Michael Keane - 20
      Will Keane - 20
      Guillermo Varela - 20
      Jack Barmby - 18

Their future looks bright, so lets hope they pontificate as much as wenger does in the transfer market, we need all the help we can get with the same old rhetoric coming from the man they pay £7m to win us nothing at all for 8 years and counting. Nuff said!
