Hopefully today's result will spur the club into action in what has been a very frustrating transfer window so far.
That said, it must be highlighted that we have let 17 players leave so far. Among those are three of our five CB's. Now we have one injured for at least six weeks and another red carded. That leaves Mertesacker and Sagna (who also took a heavy fall today).
So we started with a reported big chunk of money to spend on transfers and have since freed up a massive amount on our wage bill too.
If we don't sign a big name this week, I can only see the terraces getting a hell of lot more angry.
Protests will become a part of our home games before very long. Can anyone seriously defend the club if this goes on?
It is hard to imagine we would take such a risk with the lack of depth of our squad after releasing 17 players knowing we have to qualify for the CL, both to make money, but more importantly to attract decent players.
No CL football, no prestige, no top players, less cash, etc
