    • As an American open wheel race fan................yes, there are still a few open fans that like F-1 inspite of the Indy debacle. I have to say that F-1 as a racing body is like has a great history which it's living off and tarnishing. Mind you we have seen a number of guys from F-1 come to Cart/Champ or IRL and do reasonably well, but I can't say they have been more exciting or better at driving than some guy who started driving here locally. I think it's time to shake up F-1 like we did with USAC in the 70's, CART in 90's and so on.....it make no sense for those two clowns that run F-1 to have been for so long

    • F1 can become a great sport again, they need to stop the in fighting and concentrate on what is good for the sport.
I have watched in wonder at some of the strange decisions and almost gave up after the USA grand prix. Yet Hockenheim was good and Silverstone wasn't bad. Bring back tyre changes and design cars that go better in the slip stream. We need good racing and overtaking.

      • i agree because i have watched most races and pitstops are just not pitstops anymore, what has max mosley done to the sport!!! i say bring back tyre changes and free for all quailfying, what does it matter if you don't see the pole lap anymore! then give the broadcasting rights to the BBC or i will spend my sundays watching CRICKET!!

    • Nigel Mansell is right F1 is all down hill, the sport is now just a wheeel change and pitstop competition, what happened to dicing and overtaking. Its just too frustrating to watch anymore, and why do they still get the big sponsership, does anybody care anymore what they do on track, I and loads of others have moved on to MotoGP which has just too much excitement. Valention Rossie rules Button it.

      • Well stated i agree !!

      • I Agree
The sport seems to have changed since the death of Senna. How I miss those dices with Prost he used to have. No one has made as big an impression as Lewis Hamilton or is it too much hype too soon. I muchprefer m/cycle racing and touring cars
        F1 has lost its soul

      • I think this season has disproved your theory.

      • Bobsau...

...if you need to comment on another's use of English, it would be better accepted if you checked YOUR spelling, too! Though I do agree that the opener of this thread would be better to keep his obnoxious comments to himself and stick to F1. (and, yes, his use of English is atrocious)

Yes, the FIA fiasco (the more I learn, the more I fully blame Mr. Mosely) did not do Formula 1 any good, but we have had some excellent races this season.
The FIA should be changed...I think many people agree. It should forget its campaign for 'one tyre manufacturer' (ask an independent jury to look into the financial arrangements between Max Mosely and Bridgestone) it should also forget the continual 'rule changes' and concentrate on arranging races, arranging safe scrutineering, and not be trying continuously to slow cars down, making teams spend thousands and thousands of pounds complying with rules such as the 'on car' camera rule where (if you weren't aware of it) each car must carry the cameras, No1 car must carry cameras of one colour, number 2, different and No 3, yes-you've guessed it!

Why? We are told 'for identification purposes' Surely, as each car already carries the name of the driver very clearly marked, as do their helmets, plus each car carries a clear number (attributed to just one driver) a tiny yellow/red band round a camera that measures a fraction of an inch is hardly going to be noticed by officials, spectators or marshals, is it?

Yet the FIA spent loads of money (the teams' money) deciding on this unnecessary and, frankly, quite stupid rule.

Lets face it F1 is about speed and about the people who can make their cars faster than others, and about the skill and expertise of a select few very skilled drivers-to continually slow it down and to complicate the regulations by limiting safety features (size of air scoops for braking comes to mind here) reducing width of tyres, amount of permitted down force, etc. etc. does nothing for the spectacle of racing, increases costs and goes against the whole concept of racing in any form...just think about it.

And can we have less abuse on this site and more valid comments, please,

        Bob fretwell

    • You have to be a british soccer fan, 1) you cant spell, 2) F1 may suck in your veiw but you swallow.

      • Fire max mosley. He's horrible. Yeah, let's save money, but now, I'm going to change the regulations for V8's. So now the teams either have to run V10's with lower rev specs or build another car to accomodate V8 engines. Mr. Mosley, so which one is it? Save money or not? Nascar makes decisions which help the sport. So does MotoGP and other racing organizations. They have become very popular over the years because of the overtaking & side by side racing. F1 has gone down. Bring it back to what it was. And stick to the regulations once they are made. It seems that 2006 will be different than 2007 which will be different from 2008. I have one word for you, consistancy.

      • Anyone who thinks F1 sucks is a #$%$ It's #$%$ awesome.

      • yes i am a soccer fan. i didnt realise this was an English lesson. Going back to your point about swallowing, we all swallow something its just your mother likes to swallow the cheese off the end of my dick like the filthy whore she is LOL
