Why nascar has a bigger following in US

The best racing I have ever saw was at a NASCAR road race at Infineon Raceway. The lead changed 19 times and watching the cars go 2 wide through the corners was amazing. I was never a big fan of NASCAR but that race turned me on to it. The ovals are boring but those road courses make F1 a joke. The problem with open wheel cars on road courses is that if they touch they break.... A close wheel car can get bumped around and still stay together. That makes the drivers so much more agressive and willing to take chances.

Still love formula one though and can't wait for my visit to Monaco this year. But the party will probably surpass the race when it comes to excitement!
